'I twirl my fingers together, a nervous habit. Dawn is setting, casting an orange-yellow hue over the football field. I'm shaded behind the peeling bleachers, the white paint shredding from old age. My wavy auburn locks are frizzy from the humidity, but I'm so caught up in the moment that I couldn't care less. His battered watch beeps, indicating that five o'clock has come around. He smiles sheepishly, but he doesn't realise how I'm drowning in his deep blue irises. His hand reaches out and stills my twitching hand, causing my heart to accelerate erratically. He gives me nervous closed lip smile, and leans in.
Time slows, and it feels like the massive clock on the side of the wall has stopping ticking. It's huge yellow digits seems to have frozen in time, and the clock flashes blank.
His rosy lips enter closer, and my eyelashes flutter closed as I brace for what's going to happen next.
Then his shadow fades away, leaving me in the dark'

'My father twirls me around in his arms, and the landscape blurs as I am spun at such high speed. Our laughter is heard echoing around us, twinkling like chimes.
A cool refreshing breeze tickles my rosy cheeks in the warm weather, and the daisies around us twirl and dance wildly, their yellow petals vibrant and beautiful.
We both collapse on the emerald grass, and my gaze drifts up to the puffy white clouds above us.
'Daddy, look, it's a sheep!' My long, pudgy childish finger points vertically upwards.
My father's deep chuckles reverberate around us, as his arms circle me.
He plants a sweet kiss on my forehead, and I give him a warm, toothless smile.
'So it is' he murmurs.
The world fades to black.'

'The room is a buzz with nervous chatter and off key voices, and my heart points erratically in my chest. My friends dash past me, brushing their hair and applying more makeup. Rows of mirrors are lined up as girls pose in front of them, puckering their lips and practising their lines.Butterflies prance in my lower torso in preparation for the night ahead, I'm so nervous that I can't think straight.
Words flutter around in my mind, bouncing around the edges of my head before I have the chance to catch them in my hands.
My leg bounces up and down, and my fingers itch to flatten my hair again.
I bite my blood red lip and flatten out my fluorescent pink dress yet again, it sparkles with orange glitter.
A warm, kind hand wraps around my shoulder, relaxing me almost immediately.
My mother gives me her signature comedian smile, and I knew she was about to crack another joke. My mouth twitches in anticipation.
Instead, she surprises me, 'Audrey, stop worrying. I know you'll be amazing'
Shock floods my body, and she smiles again, a genuine one.
'I love you' I whisper hoarsely.
'I love you more' she murmurs into my hair as she gives me another kiss.
