2nd January 2015
We climb out of the aeroplane, the cool English breeze makes me shiver. It was summer back in Australia, here it's winter. The run way is frost and there are snowflakes floating in the air.
"Look Mummy it's a snow flake!" Paisley says shivering. She runs up to it and tries to catch it.
"We better go into the airport and find a cab, it's freezing," Michael says with his tour book in one hand and hand luggage in the other. Paisley and I are wearing shorts. I have goosebumps and my teeth are chattering.
We walk though the airport and Paisley sees a stuffed unicorn. "MUMMY!!!!" Paisley screams and points at the pink unicorn. She runs up to it and hugs it.
"No Paisley." I look at the price tag and it reads $50. Paisley starts crying. At this point, people are starring at us.
"Au, it's ok I'll pay for it." Michael says. He picks up Paisley with one arm and he picks up the pink fluffy unicorn.
"He's a gem," I say to Mya. Mya smiles and nods.
"He is."
"Mummy, I'm naming her Puffle!" Paisley exclaims as Michael puts her on the ground. Paisley runs up to me and shows me her new unicorn toy. I lift her up and we walk to the luggage carousel. My eyes immediately draw attention to Paisely's bright pink mini suit case.
We get our luggage and hop in the taxi. The English architecture is one to be admired. There are old buildings everywhere, churches, cathedrals and there's the Big Ben.
"It's beautiful!" Mya says. Michael nods and smiles at a Mya. Michael is sitting in the front passenger seat and Mya and I are squished in the back. Paisley is sitting on my lap with Puffle as we don't have her booster seat and Mya is sitting next to me holding her stomach. I put my spare hand on her stomach and feel a kick. "Michael, the baby kicked!" Mya shrieks.
"Really? I'll have a feel of it when we get out," Michael says "Yep just here." Michael says to the cab driver and hands him a £50 note. The hotel is huge and looks very posh. The hotel is white and is about 10 storeys high. You can see the elevators going up. The elevators are glass so you can see the whole city from the top.
"Is this where the Queen lives Mummy?" Paisley asks. Michael laughs. I laugh as well.
"No sweetie this is where we are going to live for a few weeks. The Queen lives in a palace over there," I point to the distance. "Ohh..." Paisley says. A concierge man comes over to us.
"May I take your luggage to you room?" He asks in a very posh voice. We nod.
"Just go into the lounge and ask the people at the front desk for the room key,"He informs us.
"Thank you," I say.
After waiting in the posh lounge for half an hour we are handed our room key. 706 it reads.
"Floor 7." Michael tells us. We walk over to the elevator. The hotel has flowers everywhere and white tiles. There are high ceilings with a gigantic chandelier hanging from the roof. We all get into the elevator and we immediately move smoothly and swiftly up the hotel. A robotic voice which sort of sounds like Siri announces that we have reached the seventh floor. Our room is close to the elevator so we don't have to walk very far. We reach the dark wood door and and Michael beeps the room key tag onto the box which reads 'room key'. Michael opens the door. The room is huge! It has a big window and two white leather couches next to the window. There is a coffee table with a bunch of pastel pink roses in a glass vase. To the right there is a kitchen with a dishwasher, oven and a fridge. To the left there is the master bedroom and next to the kitchen there is the second bedroom.
