Chapter 2

The sun shone brightly through the window, lingering on Moriko's pale face. The young girl's eyes filtered opened revealing two blue orbs that sparkled in the light. She slowly sat up, wiping the sleep from her eyes. Looking around, she noticed her Neesan was not in the room. Probably outside cleaning, she thought. Running a hand through her hair brushing out the knots, Moriko stood up making her way into the kitchen, where her Baachan sat with her head resting on the table.

At the sound of foot falls, Baachan lifted her head showing that she had recently been crying from the dried tear tails that lined her cheek. “What’s wrong Baachan?” Moriko asked as she rubbed her cheeks with her hands. Baachan shook her head and started to let the tears fall once more.

"M-Miyako has been taken!" she cried.  At those words, Moriko's world shattered into a million pieces faster than the speed of light. Could her sister really be gone?

Tears started forming in her eyes as she sat down in the seat next to the old lady. "Neesan can't be gone!" she screamed, banging her little hand on the table.

“It’s true,” said a voice. Mizuki walked into the room with the same look on his face. If only he went with her like he wanted to Miyako would still be here. “She’s gone. She was taken, some of the other villagers saw it, two men knock her out,” he said, anger lining his voice. From the way they descried the men, it was clearly the Akatsuki. His raised his hand to hide his tear stained face.

This was all Akatsuki’s fault, they’re the one who took her from her home. They will pay.

Stone cold hard walls, rusty pipes with water slowing dripping down into a bucket, a small cot with dried blood from previous prisoners, and huge black bars was all that was in the small holding cell that Miyako was forced into. She sat in the corner chained to the wall, staring into the darkness scared out of her mind. Wouldn't you if you were in her position? All alone, taken from your family without even a good-bye, and forced into a room that could easily turn you insane from just sitting there, doing nothing. But to make it worst was Miyako did not even know why she was here! She got no explanation at all! They should at least give her that much since they ruined her life.

Her Jiichan was probably going out of his mind right about now searching for his beloved Mago (Grandchild). He may even have already torn the village apart by the floor broads. But, what hurt Miyako the most was leaving Moriko. She promised herself that she would stay with her no matter what, to take care of her and watch her grown up; however, now that dream seems so far away. If only she could get out of this place. "Dammit!" she yelled, hitting the ground. Miyako didn't even care that her hand was on fire right now, she kept doing it hoping to have some miracle happen and she would be free. Yet, deep down she knew that it would never happen.

Hot steaming tears fell down her face, coating the ground with the salty substance. The loose hair that had fallen from her pony-tail stuck to her face in clumps. Miyako raised her arms to her face wiping away the tears when she heard foot falls outside of her cage. Within a few seconds, the metal bars opened quickly, banging on the opposite wall sending a loud pang throughout the room.

The mysterious person walked in, standing right before Miyako. She didn't want to look up for the fear of being hit, so she coward in the corner making herself look as small as possible like she wanted to blend in with the wall. "Stupid bitch, get your ass up!" demanded the silver-haired male. Miyako glanced up glaring into scary purple demon like eyes, trying to hide her fear behind an emotionless mask; one that took her the early years of her childhood to make, and perfect.
