(This Chapter Will Again be from Armin's point of view.)
The Winged Titan turns around to face the Titans, her wings acting like giant, feathered shields. Her eyes spark with determination. She lets out another brief roar, hardly like the one before that echoed through the lands, and plunges herself into the fight. Eren joins her, along with other Scout Regiment soldiers. Including me.
I was in the middle of attacking 5 meter when the retreat bell sounds. *They need help taking back Shigohess. Again.* I think as I begin to angle my Device up the wall. *They Must have already evacuated the citizens.* I shoot up the wall right as the 5 meter reaches to grab me, its creepy smile seeming to widen as its finger licks the bottom of my shoe. I shudder. Mikasa right behind me slashes into the nape of the Titan, sending it plummeting to the ground as she shoots up beside me.
As we glide through the air, I throw a quick glance back to the Winged Titan. Right as I look at her, she takes out two Titans with her wings. Eren had started running to the gate already, so she begins to follow, her wings flaring behind her, steaming off the blood of the Titans. Since she is a bit taller than Eren, she hits her head on the hole-of-a-gate before ducking in. *That really is another Titan Shifter.* I think.
I jump off the Wall on the humane side, shooting my Device into the roof of a house. I land on the ground loosely, easily. I turn around to see the two Titan Shifters enter in through the hole. Eren continues to walk forward, stepping over some soldiers, before collapsing on the ground. *He's coming back, then.* I think to myself as my gaze drifts to him, then back to the Winged Titan.
Everyone has their gun pointed at her. Either that, or their swords are unsheathed, ready to slash into her skin. She is staring down at us, her eyes wide. Her wings finish steaming when I look at her. She turns her head slightly, and everyone moves their guns.
She's looking at me.
A slight smile seems to cross her gigantic lips when she sees me. Her big eyes blink before her knees give out. Some soldiers are barely able to move out of the way before she falls into the ground face-first, her body beginning to steam instantly. *We are going to see who this Titan is!* I think, ecstatic. The next Titan Shifter was about to be revealed!
Everyone stands by the Titan body as it steams exceedingly quickly. Other than Mikasa and a few other soldiers, who are busy pulling Eren from his Titan body. I look over at him while the Titans steam. Read heat marks pattern his face, arms, and the visible parts of his legs, and his eyes are closed. *Unconscious slacker.* I think, smiling to myself. Eren may be an idiotic angry mess sometimes, but he was the only Titan on our side. At least, for now.
I look back at the Winged Titan. The wings are only skeletons of themselves, the feathers that had covered them evaporated completely. I watch as a few soldiers climb up onto the lump of flesh that was the Titans back, up onto the nape of the neck. Right as they reach it, it bursts open, followed by a powerful pocket of steam clashing through the air upwards.
They return to the nape slash, weapons drawn. A soldier of the Garrison Regiment climbs up to join them, to look down into the neck. He freezes. In a few moments of pure silence, he gets down on his knees. Without his weapons, he reaches into the nape, though many other soldiers yell at him to stop, that he might get killed. His arms return to the surface with a girl in his arms.
The girl is Zuri.
I stand there watching, frozen. I stop breathing for so long I can hear my own heartbeat as the soldier continues to pull Zuri from the mash of muscle. *Zuri.. Titan.. Wings... What?* The thoughts continue to whirl in and out of my head painfully, until my head throbs with the effort. I block them from my conscious self and focus on Zuri. Heat marks of a deep red cover her face in a pattern of beautiful proportion, though I know they must be painful. Her arms and visible parts of her legs are covered in the same as her face. Her eyes are closed, and they look a bit swollen even from a distance.
Without thinking, I shove past the soldiers in the front line around The Winged Titan. "Zuri!" I yell, climbing up onto the steaming flesh. The soldier holding Zuri looks up, and I realize it is her father. *Serves you right.* I think. *You shouldn't point a gun at your daughter.*
I kneel down beside him, looking over my long-lost childhood friend. I reach out and put my hand on her forehead. The heat pulsing from her heat marks is so harsh that I have to pull away. "No... No.. No!" I start yelling at the soldiers around her, while still holding on to the burned Zuri. "You can't hurt her!"
Even Mikasa has stopped pulling Eren from his Titan to stare at me. "Kid," says a gruff, tall Scout. "Get out of the way. Now." Many others seem to move to him, backing him up in his decision. "It's bad enough we have one half breed already, fighting for humanity like we are helpless without him." He says, motioning to where Eren is. The full bottom half of his Titan has simply disappeared now.
I look up at the man, and I throw myself over Zuri. Her father only hesitates a moment before doing the same.
"Listen up," I say, giving him a stone-hard look. "If Zuri dies.." I trail off, looking at her perfect, heated face. I look back up at the man.
"If Zuri dies, I die too."
