Cam was all I could think about ever since we first met. I knew Scott was perfect but something in my mind was telling me Cam was better. When I got home from school and pulled my phone out, there was a text on it that made me smile.
Scott😍: babe come over I need to tell you something.
Me: alright fine. *sigh*
Zachyboy: you guys realize we're in this too....
Leemahgirl: ZACH! I told you not to say anything!
Scott😍: whatever. Come over rn.
Me: alright I'll be right over
Leemahgirl: don't even imagine.
When I knocked on Scott's front door his dad opened it, saw me, and frowned; then wordlessly invited me in. This exchange was weird. Scott's dad loved me and loved seeing me. What was wrong? "Hi Mr. Matthews, is Scott upstairs?" I inquired smiling.
"Yes." He replied with knit eyebrows and any sign of a smile gone.
I forced myself to not help him and trudged up the stairs feeling defeated.
I found Scott sitting criss cross applesauce on his bed staring at his walls which were no longer covered in his usual posters of Tom Brady.
"Sit." Scott said motioning toward the spot next to him.
I sat does and easily rested my hand on his thigh. That's what I loved about Scott and I. It was never awkward, always perfect.
"I need to tell you something." he said.
I frowned at the unhappiness in his voice. It was so quiet and lost like he was drowning in sorrow.
"M-my parents. They are getting a divorce." he said almost at a whisper, "They've been fighting so much I was expecting it but what I didn't expect is that-- I-I'm moving."
