Melindas pov
"Jake" That was the only word that was in my head. All through English I thought about him. Why can't I get over is cuteness... He dumped me for my best friend, he wrecked my school life! I thought.
Round and round me, really winds me up like a Hula hula hoop hula hula hoop.
I really need to fix that ring tone, I thought as I quietly lifted my phone out of my bag. Flipping it up I saw it was a text from Zach.
Hey Melinda,
Meet outside after school.
From Zach xx.
I quickly replied telling him I would meet him outside the library straight after school. Bringgggg.
Oh wow that English class went fast, I thought as I ran out of the classroom. Running to my locker I was shocked to see a little yellow note on the outside of it.
To mel,
Time flies I know
But I think I still love you
You are the Angel in my life
I never wanted to lose you
You are still my wannabe.
Jake xxWannabe, I hated that word after Jake left me. Everyday he used to tell me that I would always be his wannabe. Well guess what?! Now that's Amadale and it can continue to be her forever, for all I care! I almost screamed, but caught myself just in time as I saw Zach walking up to me.
"I thought you said you would meet me at the library," He said looking at me with a worried expression planted on his face.
"Oh yeah, I'm so sorry. I um... Got caught up after class with Mrs Marendem, you know how she is always got something wrong," I rambled all in one breathe. I mentally fist pumped excitedly not just for making up an awesome lie but for being able to talk for so long in one breathe!!
"Oh ok," he replied as he reached into my locker and grabbed my bag, before handing it to me with a cheeky grin on his face. "Come on I have something cool to show you."
"Oh no, your not going to murder me in a dark tunnel are you?" I teased as we walked through the school doors and out into the fresh coldish air. There were kids everywhere. Well I guess that's what happens when school ends, but seriously people I need my personal bubble clear by at least a metre. I mentally screamed as yet another kid bumped into me. Zach seeing the look on my face suddenly jumped in front of me and swung his hands around like a bird unable to control himself. It was quite the humorous sight and at first I thought he was just trying to be funny, but I soon realised to was getting all the kids out my way so I could walk down to the school gate in peace. Heaven!
Once we were outside the school gates he took my hand and together we ran down the path towards the old clock that stood in the middle of the town."What are we doing here?" I asked, but Zach only shushed me as he led me up the old clock tower. The stairs were old and brown, and the sight of them was enough to make me worry if it would hold both mine and Zach's body weight.
Thankfully we made it up the stairs and out into the bright light of the sun shining in on us as we stood on the platform that was built on the outside of the clock. We could see the whole of Glendale from there and for about 10 minutes we just stood there enjoying the beauty of our little country town.
"Still thinking I'm gonna murder you,"Zach asked teasingly breaking the silence.
"Have you not realised why I'm the closest to the staircase and why I made sure that you had not a single weapon on you before we came up here?!" I replied, as I playfully punched his arm.
"Who says I didn't just hide the weapons up here," He shrugged, looking at me with a cheeky smile as he slung his arm over my shoulders. "Do you want to know the actual reason I brought you up here?"
"Um... Well... Depends if it results in me living another day or not," I replied, hoping that he would get the point that yes I did want to know why he brought me up in a clock tower, when I'm pretty sure I've never existed to him before.
