"Why do we have so many classes together?" Alice groaned. She didn't hate Isaac, but finding him cute and hilarious would be a distraction to her. All she wanted to do was go back to her normal routine as soon as possible.

"You're so mean," Isaac pouted comically. He crossed his arms as we walked out of school.

Day one, finished. There might have been a few bursts of giggles coming from Alice because of the comical genius walking with her, but otherwise, the day went pretty normally. She honestly enjoyed Isaac's company. She hadn't laughed that hard in so long. She liked it, a lot. But she wouldn't fall for him just yet. It's only day one. Wait at least a month.

"Hey, has anyone told you that you have really pretty eyes?" Isaac blurted out. He stared intently at her eyes.

"How are they pretty? It's just normal eyes," Alice laughed.

"I know they're eyes, but I meant the color. It's like a blue-green color," he said, rolling his eyes. "Anyways, I should probably go now. Can I get your number?"

She hesitated. She'd never given her number out to a friend. . . I guess I might as well make a friend worth keeping. "Sure, just gimme your phone." They exchanged numbers and parted ways.

Isaac glanced back as he left Alice. He was positive that the storm was coming soon. And he'd have to protect Alice at all costs. She couldn't be brought into this fight. Even though it was her fight, she had no idea, no recollection of anything. She wouldn't be able to handle what was about to happen so soon. She needed to be trained and gain the knowledge of everything that's going on.

His cell started to ring. He took it out and looked at the number. Elias. He groaned. Great. "Hey, what's up?" He asked apathetically.

"What the hell do you mean by what's up?! For one thing- you forgot your blood capsules this morning! Then you go off and befriend her when I specifically said to observe her discreetly. Discreetly," Elias growled through the phone.

God, he's so annoying. "Yeah yeah, I know. I screwed up with the blood capsules but nothing happened today. And wouldn't it be more natural to just be friends with her? I mean, then I get to know everything about her without being questioned. Geez, think things through will you?" Isaac spat back.

He heard a sigh come from the other side of the phone. "Okay fine, you have a point. Just get back home so you can get some blood in you. You must've been thirsty all day." With that, Elias hung up.

Isaac ran a hand through his hair. He was frustrated. At first, he was going to do what his adoptive brother said and observe her from afar, but looking at her. . . He felt so. . . He didn't even know how to explain it. He couldn't resist staying away from her. There was something he loved about her. There was some sort of past with each other that they weren't aware of. Until he sorted out what it was, then he'd stay as her friend and her protector.

Isaac's burning and aching throat brought him back to his senses. He snapped out of his thoughts and hurried his way home.
