"What kind of bubblegum have you been blowing lately..
We are the new americana"

I turn down the radio of Ashton's sloppy jalopy of a car. He is driving me to school today because Maggie is sick so she isn't going to school.

"Are you going to ask anyone to homecoming this year Ash?"

Keeping his eyes on the road he thinks for a minute "yeah, I mean I want to ask Charlotte but I don't think she'd say yes."

"Why wouldn't she say yes?"

"Because of her brother I guess, I don't know. And plus I don't play soccer or anything, I'm just in a band..I don't thinks she's into guys like me" his voice getting weaker towards the end.

"Ashton Fletcher Irwin. She would be crazy to not say yes! Plus I think band guys are definitely her type. She was always going after Harry, who by the way is in a band, until she found out he was gay because he asked out her brother" i giggle. "And you don't play soccer so you're not even a threat to Louis. So he's not going to have a problem with you."

"Yeah I guess" he says a smile pulling on his lips. "How should I ask her though?" He glances over to me a new light of confidence in his eyes, "you're a girl, how would you like to be asked?"

When I think of being asked to homecoming of course it has to be meaningful. The problem is I have nobody that would want to ask me. I don't have a boyfriend obviously. Ashton is one of the only guys I trust. But he is like a brother to me. He is my best friend. "It has to mean something to her" i say. "You have to make it special, make a scene so she will never forget it."

"Well she doesn't go to our school, and the only time I ever really see her is at soccer games mainly."

At the mention of soccer my eyes grow wide with the cutest idea, "Ash, Riverside and Holly Hills have a joint practice tomorrow! It would be perfect!" I exclaim. "You'd have to get the team to help you out but ok, so all the guys on the team paint their chests with letters of what you want to spell out and like at the end of the practice they take their shirts off and stand in a line and Lottie always goes to Louis' practices so she will definitely be there. Anyways and then you can run out to the field and have a sign that says like 'Lottie be my homecoming date?' Or something along those lines." Smiling I continue, "that would seriously be so cute Ash you have to!"

"Damn you've really put a lot of thought into this" he chuckles looking over to me flashing a cheeky grin. I nod in return. "That's actually really good, is that like your fantasy homecoming proposal or something?" He laughs again.

I blush lightly. "Well no not really, I mean I definitely think it's adorable, but I just came up with it, I don't know, it's super easy to come up with proposal ideas. You just have to think big." I end smiling.

"What would be you're all time dream homecoming proposal?" Ashton wonders.

I think it over a bit. I'm not sure actually. It's hard to come up with something like that when you don't have a person in mind. Like different people would ask differently and that's whats so great about it. "Well I don't know, it depends on who would be asking me I guess."

"How am I supposed to help a guy out if you don't tell me how you want to be asked, come on Lyd."

"Wait you know someone who is going to ask me to homecoming?" I look over to him amused. "Who is it?"

"Why would I tell you that?"

Ugh "give me a hint at least" I beg giving the best puppy face I can.
