I woke up from someone shaking me. I peeled my tired eyes open to find a middle aged Asian women looking back at me. She was wearing a maid outfit and her head was pulled back in a neat bun. Despite her face holding no emotion, her eyes looked friendly.

"You are lucky. The alpha would not be pleased if he called for you and you were asleep. You must learn to wake up this early on your own. In this place it's everyone for themselves. I will not help you again." She stated before leaving my room and me with my mouth hanging open.

I looked over at the clock and it read 6:09 am. I groaned. I have to wake up this early everyday? II guess it's not that bad if it means no punishments. I quickly got dressed and stood outside his door. I remember Toby telling me that I must stand outside his door until he wakes up. I stood there barely even breathing for an hour.

I had resulted to picking the old nail polish off my nails. I heard movement in his room and straightened my posture and put my hands behind my back. He opened the door and I looked at the floor, not wanting to be slapped again for looking him in the eyes.

"Go make me breakfast."

"Yes... master." I responded with difficulty before walking down the stairs.

I desperately wanted to wash my mouth out with soap. The word felt like complete vulgar escaping my lips. I shook the feeling off and went into the kitchen to make Toby breakfast, not looking for trouble.

When finished I walked back up the stairs and to his room. I knocked lightly on the door, but got no response. I could faintly here him singing. I listened as hard as I could.

He surprises me a lot. I couldn't help but feel myself falling for this side of Toby. The way his voice sounded like honey, I couldn't get enough.

I was shocked. How can someone with so much hate in their heart, have so much emotion. I decided that I couldn't judge him. All he had to do was sing.

I knocked on the door again. This time it opened. He grabbed the food and closed the door again.

When the door closed quietly and wasn't slammed, I smiled. It's a step in the right direction. The direction of me actually being happy here.

I walked back into my room with a ghost of a smile on my face. This might not be so bad after all.
