New beginnings

I wandered around the pack house just looking. Toby had alpha duties to attend to, and since we haven't mated, I was not required to complete Luna duties yet.

I wanted to wait a little to get used to the feel of this pack. How good can a leader truly be without knowing the pack? Not very good.

I wandered my way into the dining room seeing 10 pack members around a table playing poker. I smiled softly. It made me happy to know people got along well here.

I continued my wandering until I found my way at the front of the pack house, where the most pack members were located.

All eyes suddenly fell on me and 3 dozen heads bowed at me. I smiled back and they all continued to talk amongst themselves.

I found a group of girls that looked to be around my age. I smiled and walked over and started to converse.

"Hi Luna!" A preppy blonde greeted.

"I'm Alyssa! This is Jackie, Lindsey and Sam!"
Alyssa stated pointing to a black haired girl, a red haired girl, and finally another blonde girl.

"Nice to meet you all! Anything interesting going on?" I questioned, very curious.

"Besides finally having a Luna? Well we were just planning a girls day out before the full moon party next week" Alyssa beamed at me.

It was very clear that Alyssa was the talkative one of the group of girls for sure. I chuckled to myself at how charismatic she was.

"Sounds like a lot of fun." I smiled.

I seemed to be smiling a lot. I was definitely ready to be Luna of this pack.

"Would you like to join Luna? We are going in two days."

"I want to really bad and I will try my best to make it. Thank you for including me ladies." I said smiling yet again.

With that I turned away and walked around some more, smiling at the thought of having made new friends already.

That was when I heard it.

Crash

I turned around so fast you would have thought my head was gonna fall off. I ran back in the direction of where the pack members where just smiling and having a good time. On the ground lays the girl who was talking to me before.

I froze.

I didn't know what to do.

"Luna help!"

I snapped out of my daze.

I ran over to the girl and starting looking her over. I didn't see any injuries.

The girl, who i think was introduced to me as Lindsey, started shaking her.

"Hey sh, sh, its going to be okay" i said putting a hand on her shoulder.

Lindsey immediately stopped shaking her friend and looked up at me with a kind of dazed expression.

"Of course." She mumbled looking like she was confused herself.

I immediately got down next to the now unconscious Alyssa to check if she had a pulse and was still breathing.

"Somebody help me take her to the pack Doctor!" I pleaded

"I'll help!" Yelled a random pack member.

He strode over to me and stuck his hand out for me to shake. I had to give him credit, he was very confident and he should be at that.

He was quite tall and muscular for his age. He was obviously be no older than 17, making his build that more impressive. His jet black hair was tousled every which way and his chiseled face seemed to hold a constant smirk.

I looked down at his hand and gently took it.

"Mark"

"Kayla"

He smirked "you're the famous Kayla that's got everyone talking Huh? I must say you're prettier than I imagined"

I blushed at his comment, but couldn't help feeling weird having another man compliment me.

"thank you but we really must hurry. She needs to get to the pack Doctor"

He nodded stiffly and helped me lift the unconscious blonde off the ground.

We quickly walked into the hospital section, made for the pack Doctor, and gently set Alyssa down on a table.

"I'm Doctor Greg. What happened?"

"I don't know sir. One minute she was up and talking to me and happy. I walked away and ran back when I heard a crash and found her laying unconscious" I breathed out

He nodded throughout my story and seemed to think hard on the situation.

"Okay thank you...."

"Kayla"

"Thank you Kayla and Mark for bringing her here. I need you to leave now so I can run tests. You understand?"

We nodded and left the hospital ward. I turned around to see if Mark was still there only to run into a hard warm chest.

I breathed in deeply and relaxed when I felt arms wrap around my tiny frame.

"I missed you"

"Missed you more"

He chuckled at me and walked with me back to our room.

I like that.

Our room.

It sounds like a fresh start.

A good start.

But my story is far from over.

This is just the beginning
