"Sometimes the person who tries to keep everyone happy is the most lonely person"
.....
I gasped for air dragging myself from the weeds and pulling my heavy and tired body from the grasps of the grass. The night was alive, the shallow, fiery sun has been accomplished and the milky coloured moon has come with a display of myriad, twinkly stars. Swaying trees were connected to rustling leaves housing tiny bodies of insects and animals sleeping among their dense foliage.
I took in my surroundings for a minute before climbing to my feet and walking along the road, my head had calmed down and no longer pumps pain with each heartbeat around my skull.
Sydney was going to kill me.
I didn't bother to look at my watch. The dream haunted me, mayday, mayday. This ships going down. And you as captain your sure going to drown.
The road seemed to go on forever and my legs ached. But soon enough I arrived home.
The light was on in the living room and I saw to forms drinking coffee in front of each other talking, I could make out my sister but could not identify the second person.
I frowned and walked in. She never locks the door. Scraping my boots on the doormat I walking in.
Two heads swivelled around to face me. Sydney's face lightened up, "how was studying?" She asked.
Confused I looked at the boy across from her and my eyes widened. James.
"Did You get the books you needed? Oh, and thanks for showing me how to get that math problem, sorry I had to leave so early, quite busy with homework and stuff." He said.
"Yeah. No problem..."
He looked at his watch, "oh, it's 5:00 already. Must be going Ms. Scotts."
He got up and walked out smiling at me kindly, "your welcome" he mumbled under his breath.
When the door closed Sydney waggled her eyebrows at me.
"Don't even think about it." I said walking towards the kitchen to grab something to eat.
She laughed, "don't worry I'm not..." The smile she wore said otherwise, "anyways...make sure you call if your tutoring a hot guy after school and had to get books from the library, good thing he came by to tell me" she grinned.
"Yeah, yeah..." I secretly thanked James.
He probably felt sorry for me, I thought, yeah that's it. He saw me being picked on and then saw that I couldn't afford lunch and didn't have a car then felt sorry for me.
Right?
