Never Give In

Chapter 3

"Kat! Get your lazy butt up before I drag you outta your bed!" Jamie yelled up the stairs. I grumbled under my breath, remembering that today was our last day of school. Tomorrow was graduation! I wanted to do something exciting today to get back at all the haters at school, but I had absolutely NO ideas. Sigh...

I heard a knock on my bedroom door, and went to answer it.

 "Jamie you don't have to kno-" I was cut off by Jake rushing past me into my room. He gave me a mischievous glance and went straight to my bathroom. I rolled my eyes and followed him.

"Jakey-poo get out! I need a shower." He mock glared at the nickname we both hated. He kept digging in my make-up to find the stage paint we used for Halloween. I sighed and opted out of the shower. "What exactly are you doing here? And why do you need my stage paint?"

"We're gonna do something insane! It's our last day of school! We're gonna make up some new looks! Now get started. Go crazy. Let loose. Have fun!" He explained, getting started on his new makeup. It took us both about an hour to finish. He looked amazing with black eyes that had feather-like lines coming out at random.

Mine was alot different. I outlined my eyes in regular black eyeliner like usual, but I added a Joker-like touch and put a black smile along my lips (I am obsessed with Batman:D). Jake smiled and gave me a nod of approval. We walked down the stairs and sat down at the table. Jamie glanced up and back down to her paper. Then she did a double take, giving us her ultimate WTF?! look. We both laughed and shook our heads.

"It's our last day of school, and it's payback time baby!" Jake explained to her. I cracked up at that and scarfed down some pancakes. I waved at Jamie as we walked out the door. Jake grabbed my hand as we were walking to school and I blushed, but kept holding his too. What has gotten into this kid?

"So, uh, Kat... Y'know the end of the year dance tomorrow?" Jake asked, glancing over at me sheepishly. I nodded my head, and he continued. "Well, since this is our last day of school, and we didn't do prom or anything else, well, I was, y'know....-"

"Jake, I'll go with you if that's what you're asking." I said with a grin. He smiled, and gave me a hug. After, we kept walking, both of us extremely excited. When we got to school we got lots of stares, rude comments, and some people even got violent. I was shoved into a locker and somebody tried tripping Jake.

The teachers kept staring, and they would either give us the silent treatment, or try to embarass us as much as possible, but we didn't care. That was the idea of our face paint. After the day finally ended, me and Jake found ourselves making plans for tomorrow, which was graduation, then the dance.

"I'll pick you up at seven." Jake said with a smile. He kissed me on the cheek, and we walked to our different houses. I found myself blushing, and I lightly touched the place where his lips had met my skin. The light tingles were still there, and I wondered if it meant that I liked him too.

~Jake's POV~

"Mom! Mother! Madre! Carolyn!" I called out, extremely excited. She rushed into the hallway with a concerned look on her face. "I asked her! And she said yes! And I.. Ikissedheronthecheek..." I mumbled out the last part.

My mom had a huge smile on her face and gave me a big hug. "Ok J, we need to get you a nice tux, and a corsage. Preferrably black, seeing as how you two goofs are always wearing it. And you can't forget to tell her you like her! And ask her on a date!" She smiled and hurried to make phone calls. I dropped my bag and headed up to my room. Tomorrow was going to be the best day ever.
