True to his word, Adam came in the following Friday evening for me to help him look for a Halloween outfit, and he came back on Saturday...and on Sunday.
He must have spent at least two hours each day in the shop trying on tonnes of costumes. Some of them I chose just for humour and I knew he'd never pick but seeing him try them on left me in hysterics on the floor.
"Any favourites yet?" I ask him as he changes out of his banana costume.
"Think this one might be a winner." He shouts out.
"Which one is it?" I ask him
"I can't come out to show you. You'll have to come in here."
"I can't."
"Please."
"Okay fine."
There was no one else in the shop right now and I'd hear the door 'ding' if anyone did. Suppose the bell wasn't all that bad, it finally had its useful moment.
I walked into the changing rooms and there's the one cubicle that's got the curtain closed. "Come and show me then."
"Come in here. I don't want anyone else to see."
"But you just said it's a favourite. People will have to see you in it if you choose this costume."
"Please Nia."
"Okay, I'm coming in. Are you covered?" I ask as I move to his cubicle.
There wasn't a reply to that, just a mumble.
And as I open the curtain I understand why.
My jaw drops, my eyes bulge and I burst out laughing.
"So what do you think?" he grins and I have to hold onto the side of the cubicle to stop myself from crumbling at his feet.
"I can't breathe, oh my god." I say laughing so hard I could feel tears prickling my eyes.
"Do you want me to turn around?"
"Sure." I say wiping the tears away as he turns ever so slowly for me.
The back was just as good as the front, damn.
Adam was currently dressed up in Borat's bright green mankini, which obviously left little to the imagination as he'd taken off his boxers. And my imagination was loving every second of this.
"So what's your verdict?" he asks coming closer to me and I gulp. My eyes didn't know where to look. They wanted to look at his face, they really did, but when his package was so nearly naked and so close to me, that's where they looked.
"Definitely my favourite costume so far." I whisper, forcing my eyes to now gaze up at him.
He was a hell of a lot closer than I thought he was; I backed up slightly only to find the wall behind me...and Adam pressed against the front of me.
"Mine too now that you're looking at me like that." He whispers huskily.
I couldn't tear my eyes away from his as I felt his hand slowly slide up my arm to my shoulder and then slip around the back of my neck. Our eyes didn't lose contact as his face descended closer to mine. A ghost of a kiss was pressed against my lips just as I heard the shop door 'ding'...and then 'ding' again...and again. We had a group coming in.
My hands clung to his muscular tanned shoulders as his head rested against my neck defeated. Our moment had been ruined.
"I best get back to work and let you get changed." I whisper pushing him away from me slightly.
