The Alpha's Mate

Chapter 3

I looked at the clock, 7:50. I pulled my body off of the bed and swung my legs onto the floor. I grabbed the dress and put it on, doing up my combat boots and pulling on my bomber jacket. Jason walked through the door just in time.

"You look hot dude." I said. He was wearing a pair of tight skinny jeans and a black muscles shirt, a grey beanie was pulled on his head.

"Dresses suit you." Jason said looking at my dress.

"Eyes up here, you found your mate."

"Are your nothing but my best friend." He said smirking.

I rolled my eyes and walked out of our room. Jason followed me down the stairs and out into the clearing. There was a stage set up with lights and about 400 people were standing around. To the edge there was a bar and on the other side was a large play area for all the little children.

I looked at Jason. "I'm off to the bar, cover for me."

"I know the drill." He said before walking off to my father.

I made my way over to the bar and sat down on one of the few stools. I ordered a large vodka and coke and spun around to look at the people around me.

Near the stage my father and Jason were talking to a group of people. My mother was off to the left talking to a woman, who looked equally as powerful.

We were only here because next week it would be time for the Alpha to hand is position down to his son, due to his son coming the age of 19, another Alpha had to be present for the ceremony and it was only polite to drag his family, note the sarcasm.

I downed the rest of my drink and put the glass on the counter, nodding to the bar man to get me another. When he arrived with my drink, I got up off the stool and walked over to Jase.

"Well you already smell of alcohol." He said smirking as I walked over.

"Oh shut it, I needed the confidence boast, so where is this alpha child thingy anyway."

"He lands tomorrow, he had to go do business with another pack, but you would know that if you listened."

"Shss, that's too much effort."

"Only you, the Alpha is walking over, try not to act to tipsy."

"Yes sir." I said giving him a mock salute.

He let out a laugh just as the Alpha and my father walked over.

"It's very nice to meet you Rylan."

"You to sir."

"Well, my son won't be here until tomorrow, but I do hope that you are able to find your stay comfortable."

"It is a very nice place you have here." I said, trying not to sound like my words were slurring.

"Thank you; please make use of our training facilities and the property around us. I don't want your wolf getting too caught up inside."

I let out a laugh. "I already have plans to train tomorrow with Jason. I hope that's okay."

"That's perfectly fine my dear, I will see you tomorrow when my son turns up." He made it sound like he was disappointed that his son wasn't here when we arrived.

My dad was just about to follow him, when he whispered in my ear. "I know you have been drinking, but don't get drunk."

It was hard for a wolf to get drunk, it happened to take a lot of alcohol.

I had only got drunk once before, and that was a time when life was getting hard, my brother was growing up but at the same time he left a numerous amount of problems behind him which always led to me getting into trouble. Two years younger and I was the one with the weight on my shoulders.

My brother Jack turns 19 in one month, and once again there will be another ceremony so that my dad can pass on the alpha position to him.

I decide to go get another drink from the bar dragging Jason with me.

"So what do you think this Alpha son will be like?"

"To be honest even since I met you all my opinions on Alpha's offspring's changed."

"That's because I'm amazing and you love me unconditionally."

"Usually, unless you start to steal my popcorn then you're dead to me."

"Glad, that you love me too." I replied punching him in the shoulder.

I downed my drink and made my way to the dance floor. Soon enough the Alpha made his way up on the stage.

"So this party tonight was all for our friends who have drove 5 hours to be here. I would like to welcome the Alpha and the Luna of the Blue moon pack, his daughter and the son of the beta."

I loud cheer went up from the crowd that surrounded us. The Alpha beckoned us to the stage and slowly the four of us walked up the small set of stairs.

My father took the mic and started to speak.

"Thank you very much for having us here the next few weeks, we feel very privileged to share your house, and we hope that we are not intruding in anyway. My daughter and my Beta's son will be training tomorrow, feel free to join them, they are usually happy to help." He said glaring at me, as if it was an order hidden by a sarcastic comment; I rolled my eyes as he carried on talking. "Well anyway, I'm going to wrap it, I hope everyone has a good night." We walked off of the stage and into the crowd below. Everyone thanked my father as he walked back over to his crowd of respective people.

"Hey Jase, I think I'm going up to my room, see you later."

"Sure Rylan."

I opened the door to my room and stripped out of my dress. Climbing into my sweatpants and oversized hoodie, I climbed under the covers and soon enough fell asleep.
