It had been a week since we had arrived at the pack house. Alex and I had been getting closer but he was still being forced to sleep on the sofa, whilst I took up his big double bed. I had kept up with my training working twice each day so that I didn't slip into one of my lazy routines.
Jason and I had been attempting to spend every waking minute with each other, that was when I wasn't spend my time getting to know Alex.
I was beginning to trust him and I was actually happy around him.
I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. "What you thinking about babe?" Said Alex's smooth voice in my ear.
"Everything, have you realised it's a week until my family leaves?"
"And I'm hoping that you're going to stay." He said giving me kiss on my cheek.
"Hmmm I'm still debating."
"How can I change your mind?" He asked his hands dropping slightly lower.
"It's not been made yet." I said smirking at him as I turned around my back against the counter, trapped there by Alex's hands.
I stood on my tiptoes and kissed him, Alex froze taken by surprise but he soon kissed me back his hands wrapping around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
"God, it's 9 in the morning guys will you get a room."
We broke apart to see Jason standing there grinning at us both. "We have a room." Alex answered. "And a bed."
"Which you're not allowed on." I said smirking at him.
Jason let out a laugh as Alex tried to cuddle closer to me but I pushed him away. In the time that we had spent here Jason and Alex had become quite close friends.
"Are we still going to the lake today?" I asked Jase.
"If you want. Skylar will be here in an hour so she will want to tag along."
"That means I'll finally get to meet her. Can't believe it's taken this long Jase."
"Wait, if Jason is taking Skylar does that mean I can come with you, babe?" Alex asked, suddenly alert.
"If you really want to, we're not really going to be doing much, we don't even know where the lake is." I replied sitting down at the table next to him.
"Well why don't we go to the waterfall?"
I looked at Jason at the same time he looked at me. "Waterfall sounds good," we both said together.
"So leave in like an hour and half?" Alex said.
"Sounds good, I'm going to go and get ready."
I walked up the stairs to my room, leaving Alex and Jason chatting at the table.
I pulled off the clothes that I had slept in and took a long shower washing my hair. I dried it with a towel and put it up into a messy bun. I looked through my draws and realised that I didn't have a bikini.
At that moment the door swung open. In walked a brown haired girl, she seemed like the bubbly type of girl. "I'm Skylar."
"Your Jase's mate right?"
"yeah, sorry it's taken so long for me to meet you, Jason has told me loads about you."
"Nothing bad I hope?"
"Course not, the boy worships you."
We broke out into laughter. It was like we had known every each other for everything. There was no awkwardness between us at all.
"Jason told me that he had forgotten to pack you a bikini. So I went to your house and found one in your room. I hope that's okay?"
"You are a life saver. I was literally just panicking before you walked in here."
I smiled at her. "Do you know when we're leaving?"
"In about half an hour, I've got to go find Jase I'll see you downstairs later." She smiled as she walked back out the door.
I looked at the bikini that she had left on the bed. I had never worn it before and it had been brought for me as sort of a joke.
It was black, there were no straps to the top but I slipped it on, it still fit luckily. I went through Alex's draws until I found a long black hoodie. I pulled it on over my bikini the bottom reaching my mid-thigh. I grabbed my black and white vans and made my way downstairs.
"Rylan what are you wearing?"
"Your jumper why?"
"Because you need to wear more clothes around the house, until your mated otherwise other wolves are going to try and steal you away from me and I'm not letting that happen."
"No one is going to take me away from you Alex, you have to understand that."
I followed Jason out to the car. Alex followed closely behind me. I took shotgun as Alex had to drive and Jason and Skylar wanted to sit next to each other.
The trip itself wasn't a long one and soon enough we pulled into a road which led to a clearing within the trees. We climbed out of the car and took the bags from the car. I followed Alex down the path through the forest. He moved a tree out of the way with his hand to the most breath taking scene.
There was a natural pool, its blue water glowed under the sun, and behind it sat the waterfall. The water rolling off in waves every so often. Around the waterfall were park benches which looked at if they had been placed there. The area was so green with plants that it took my breath away.
"It's beautiful." I said to nobody in particular.
"We use it when we have pack parties or if it's someone's birthday." Alex stated.
We placed our bags down on one of the benches it wasn't long before Skylar and Jason were already in the pool acting like the sweetest couple.
I laid my towel out on the grass and sat crossed legged.
"Babe, do you want to go in?"
"It's cold" I replied not really wanting to show my body off in front of him. He wouldn't look at me the same way after.
"No it's not baby, come on for me please."
I looked at his face. He was using the puppy dog eyes he used every night whenever he wanted to stay in his bed. But this time they were softer, less jokingly.
"Only for you." I said as he pulled me into a hug.
I stood up and pulled off Alex's baggy jumper, instantly I felt self conscious. Ever since the incident I hated my body. I opened my eyes to Alex staring at me with a look I didn't quite understand. I went to pull the jumper back on. So it would cover the scars that filled my stomach. The final reminder of the past.
"Rylan, don't put the jumper back on." Alex said as he pulled it out of my hands. "You're beautiful, no matter what has hurt you, you got through it, and that's what has made you stronger than ever. Your amazing baby, I couldn't wish for a prettier mate."
I felt tears well up in my eyes. "You don't mean that."
"I mean that baby, you're so beautiful and you don't even realise it. Now come on the water is waiting for us."
The rest of the afternoon was spent messing around in the water and climbing over the rocks under the waterfall. It was probably one of the best days we had had since we arrived at the pack house. I was beginning to be myself around Alex and I think that I had made up my mind.
When my parents leave, I won't be going with them.
