I woke up the next morning. My wolf seemed to think that something was going to happen today and for some reason lexis my wolf was on edge. I climbed out of my bed and decided to wake up Jase. I pulled the covers off of him. Leaving him lying on the mattress in just his boxers, Which happened to be Mickey mouse print. I burst out laughing falling onto the floor.
"What the hell is that racket?" Jase said waking up. "Why the fuck are you on the floor, where has my duvet gone." He looked down at his boxers, and then at me lying on the floor, realization struck him, "shut up."
"I'm going to get ready," I said. "We have to go impress people at training."
He smirked, "Only you can think of that at this time in the morning."
"Well, there's also food on my mind, but I can't go round this house in just a shirt, with all these males around."
"Well there's that."
I pulled on a pair of black sweats and a white tank top.
"Are you coming or what?" I said looking directly at Jase who was trying to get back into bed.
"Huh, oh yeah, I'm coming." He pulled on his grey sweats and a black wife beater.
We practically ran down the stairs. The smell of food was wafting up the stairs. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a plate off the side, filling it up with bacon, eggs and sausages.
"You sure do like sausage." Jase said smirking at me by the side.
I elbowed him in the gut, making him grunt and fall over.
I made my way over to the table and sat down, I shovelled my food down my throat and then stood up, not before kicking Jase in the ankle, "Let's go twat face."
He chased me outside onto the clearing outside. My father and the Alpha of the blue moon pack were already beginning to train the new wolves.
"Rylan, Jason, join in." My father said, it was not asking it was a command.
"Yes sir," I said giving him a mock salute again.
I made my way to the running track. I ran round, stretching my legs increasing my strides with every step. After ten laps I made my way over to the obstacle course.
The first step was climbing up a brick wall, some of the bricks had slight holes in them, and so I used them to haul myself up the wall. When I reached the top I jumped down, my werewolf abilities helped me steady myself as I set off running; the next step was a selection of duck and under bars. I crawled under the first one, finding it way to easy. I hopped up grabbing hold of the next bar, the cold metal hurting my hands. I swung once, twice, three times then hopped over the mud covered floor.
I laughed to myself; this course was yet to prove any difficulty to me. I quickly finished the rest of the bars and moved on to the second to last stage of the course.
In front of me were 4 dummies. Each of these dummies were able to throw punches as they moved down the side of a wall, on the other side of platform, there was a black wall each of section could throw something at you that you have no idea about.
I made my way to the first section, the dummies began to throw punches, and I swung a kick and knocked one straight off of the stand. The black wall threw out a compartment in which I had to climb a rope to get over.
I grabbed the rope and pulled myself up. My arms straining but I carried on. Soon enough I was over the wall.
Section two was a black hole; you had to fit yourself through a small hole which basically was only big enough for your wolf. I shifted quickly, not bothering about my ripped clothes. Squeezing myself through the hole I then bounded towards the human like model. I lunged myself towards it hitting it straight in the chest. I ripped the model apart, pulling it to shreds and throwing it to the side.
I laughed as I finished what was known as the death corridor. The next step was to take on the warriors of the pack.
We can do this, they can't be that strong. My wolf said.
I know, let's do this.
I lunged forward, acting the first warrior. He shifted in mid air; we rolled around on the floor, until I was hovered above him. I started snapping at his neck, my hind legs digging deep into his stomach. I heard him whimper beneath me and I let him go.
I went against two more warriors taking each one of them down.
I shifted back picking up a shirt from the pile of clothes on the floor, the crowd of people that had gathered suddenly looked scared and worried whenever I looked at them.
"Rylan, I want you to go against Jason."
"But dad, he's like my brother."
"And that's why I want you to go against him."
Jason looked at me. "It can't hurt can it?"
I pulled off the shirt and shifted at the same time as Jason, I pushed it out of my head that he was Jase, and was focused on winning this battle.
We lunged at the same time, meeting in mid air; you could hear the thud as we collided. We fell to the floor rolling around on the floor.
Suddenly this scent like pine wood and honey filled my senses, but I pushed it to the back of my mind.
I snapped at Jase, grabbing hold as the scruff on his neck. I climbed on top of him, my legs digging into the ground, I snapped at his neck, he snapped at mine.
The scent came back this time my wolf was screaming one word and this one word made me freeze.
Mate.
It wasn't long till everyone heard a growl, which made the floor rubble.
"WHO THE FUCK IS FIGHTING WITH MY MATE."
