Disaster or a midnight lullaby (TMNT Leo fanfic)

Nightmarish

It was cold and dark.Voices screamed and yelled around me as arms grabbing at me from every direction. I wanted to wale as loud as my lungs would allow but no one could hear. Tossing and turning then a thud. I had somehow manged to fall off my small cot that lay hidden in our layer's lab my breathes have yet to recover from the frightening nightmare but I still have yet to tell my brothers about these disturbing dreams and visions.

Donnie let out a sorrow filled sigh. He wish he could have saved my eye only leaving a deep gash that soon scarred quit quickly, but I didn't think it mattered too much since I had been training so hard with a blind fold over my face for so long. I could sense any presence in a pitch black room or any dense street. Mikey has yet to recover fully but I comfort him as much as I can and I've been encouraging creative methods of training, he and the others can possibly come up with, being daylight or dark among the city dwellers. Ever since...I have to push us harder if we are to have another run in with Mas- that demon trader! My fist launched the punching bag across the dojo and into the wall to slide back to the floor.

Raph growled at me in my blind spot but I sighed he knew. He was the only one closest to me after it all happened. But I was still resilient to tell him. I shook my head harshly as the vision began to blind my eye and reality. My balance slipped and then arms were steadying me carefully to prevent me from tumbling over luckily our formation had stuck tightly together along the roof tops. Raph noticed my constant shaking of my head with my eye closed but only to use that as another reason to take the training back to our home away from- no our new home.  

We never wanted to stay in the sewers. The stench, memories, and just the sleeping situations weren't to our liking along with other hundreds of excuses for us to move. We had actually found the old abandon Zoo which no one lived in or came near, except once.  

It was a Halloween dare where this kid had been told he had to stay the night in the Zoo and then he would be able to join the group of popular teens at his High School.  I had hid myself behind him and scared the other boys off while he smirked as if he had won. Puffing out his chest he quickly turned bumping into my chest plates.  Raph, Mikey, and Donnie all awaited my command but I just tapped his hair. 

"You really should choose your friends wisely." I could tell the boy was afraid and shaking but he was already upset with how his so called "Friends" didn't mention a strange being standing right behind him.  I thought he would run away but was surprised when he hugged me. 

"Why don't you be my friend then," his voice sent his emotions toward me. He was hurting from being so alone. My brothers crept closer but not threatening to blow their cover. 

I could sense the questions they silently whispered to me. 

'What should we do?'

'Should we come out?'

'What if he tells everyone?'

I take a deep breath in and answer," Sure but you must promise not to tell anyone about us."

At first the teen looked confused but once my brothers came into the light, the boy got more than he'd bargained for.  For a couple of months he was a great buddy who helped Mikey get back to normal yet something began to resurface. My nightmares or visions increased. Every minute I entered his aura of influence, my eye would overflow with strange images and beings grasping at my body.  I'd tense up like I was being electrocuted and cry out in fear of the hallucinations.

Donnie and Raph had had enough. They confronted the loner teen without any hesitation. I couldn't see much of what really happened but  I know that I couldn't sense the teen anymore. Raph and Donnie weren't the only ones who were involved in the conflict. Apparently Mikey had taken their side. Mikey came walking up to me," Hey Leo feeling better?"

"Yeah," I stood up leaning on an old lions' cage with the cold bars sending chills down my arm and shoulder," just shaking it off."

I jumped onto his shoulders smirking and giving him a tap on his head and then disappearing into the trees that shaded the already dark Zoo.
