A True Happy Ending

Everyone stands
Smiles on all their faces
I smile knowing how happy they are
I look at the altar and see him smiling
The beautiful long white dress
Flowing beautifully on the carpet
People wait anxiously
The beautiful flowers perfect for throwing later on for the next bride to be
Looking at his smiling face while arriving at the alter
I was happy, I was happy this was finally happening, the best thing that has ever happened in my whole life
Everybody sat down, smiling
I felt like crying
Tears starting to build up
But then I felt someone squeeze my hand
I turn and smile, saying a quiet thanks
I was happy but also sad
Happy that he was happy
Sad because it wasn't with me
A happy life with me
He was getting a happy life with that girl
She used to be my enemy but now my friend, why
Cause we grew up, and saw we were more alike then we first thought
The one I love doesn't remember me anymore, a hard sacrifice I had to make
A sacrifice to make the world around me happy instead of only me
So now I live in a world where only two people remember me,
My used to be enemy and now friend
And the guy who loves me and would do anything for me, even become evil, who I cannot love but can be best friends with
I live in a world where not even my parents remember me
I've been erased from every bodies thoughts, memories, pictures, everything, as if I had never even existed
All the people I saved, that hated me once can't even change to like me and thank me, or anything
They don't even recognize me
Everybody stands and claps as the couple kisses and heads out
Everybody rushes out going to the house of his parents where everybody is gathered to celebrate
Upon arriving there I see that everybody is already there dancing and having a fun time, everybody
Nobody pays attention to us as we enter, unlike before
I sit at one of the tables, he sits next to me
We have suffered so much, we know everything about each other we're the perfect couple, but it's a one-sided love since I cannot love anymore, not after all the unforgivable things he has done
We danced together for a bit, but always had our hands together, we never separated but also didn't talk
The newlywed a were ready leave, but first she had to throw the bouquet
I didn't want to get involved too much
But she grabbed me and pulled me into the crowd full of unwed women and girls
For the first time we had been apart for things that aren't too necessary
She threw the bouquet, arms were raised trying to catch it
But instead hit me in the face and landed in my hands
It was like a slap to wake up from this nightmare and make a dream of reality
It gave me hope that I could find true happiness without him
The newlyweds left, some stayed for the rest of the party, some left
We left, hand in hand, walking to the center of town where some children were playing
"Let's forget about this place
Let's hop onto a bus to who knows where and start all over, a place where we don't have memories and know no one.
For once let's be happy with our life"
He smiles
"I think it's a brilliant idea
I've been wanting to be happy for a while"
"Let's make the best of it,
Let's be a little selfish and make ourselves happy for once"
I look at the sky
It's everywhere we can go to
It holds our hope
