Author's Note: This is before the breakup, actually pretty early in their relationship after the boys get back from a trip to visit kids in orphanges and hospitals. I couldn't do another sad one. Enjoy!

Zayn was eager to enter the house, namely the library, knowing what was inside. He was back after another two weeks of conferences and orphanages and hospital visits, and the feeling of well-being and accomplishment was fresh within him, and now he felt even happier to be home to find—

Jessica.

He grinned. There she was sitting on the rug in front of the fireplace, a small book well seated in her crossed legs. Her long curls were in a braid going around her neck to graze the front of her chest, and immediately the urge for him to reach his hand out hold it made him twitch, and with no further thought he slid back behind the doorway, tiptoeing around the back of the library while she was still engrossed, and making his way to the back shelves, not even allowing a creak of the ground.

He peeked out from the table, seeing the back of her now, her bare back showing under the tank top she wore, and part of her waist peeking out from her jeans. He bit his lip, stifling his wide grin. This was too perfect.

He slipped forward again, creeping and tiptoeing with a slug’s pace, and he froze as he saw her move….oh no wait….she was only turning the page. He stretched his mouth in relief, creeping forward so silently while she didn’t even realize. He was only a foot now, and he moved forward as if he were in a slow motion film, his limbs moving as a sloth would. He reached his hand out closer to grab her shoulder when he was close enough, and then he would—

“Welcome home,” she turned the page.

His mouth dropped to floor, and swallowing he stood up straight crossing his arms immediately and taking in a breath. “How’d you know I was--”

“Scare me once and I’ll be surprised. Scare me a hundred times and I catch on, babe.” She closed the book putting her bookmark in place, turning around and smiling at him with the full force of her glow, her eyes glimmering at him. Oh wow.

She climbed up to her feet, grinning as she skipped over to him while at instinct he brought his hands up, and she rushed him knocking the wind from his chest as he starting laughing and wrapped his arms around her.

“Welcome back,” her small voice squealed into his ear. “I missed you.”

He closed his eyes, not letting go of this enchanting figure in his arms. She was magical. How could she make him feel even more at home than when he’d stepped through that front door? And she didn’t even live at his house with him.

Yet.

She moved her arms around to pull him back, and before he could register her next move she pulled his head down to her, kissing him with the best welcome he could ever ask from anyone. His hold on her waist secured, and he squeezed his eyes closed as he deepened their embrace, tilting his head and pulling her in as she complied, and as they both fell into the abyss of each other.

Releasing each other was like falling out of an induced state…neither could fully break out of the spell. They watched each other sweetly, and again Zayn felt his heart full with the love that he had for her.

She looked up at his neatly styled quiff, and brought a hand to feel the new accent that was on his ear, and his leather jacket that accentuated his broad shoulders. He looked as much as a man as any man could get. And don’t dare get her started on that damn jaw line…

He grew stiff and looked down and away, rubbing the bridge of his nose nervously as he broke their eye contact. “You’re making me nervous,” he shyly laughed.
