Elana.
Thyne sat up all night, studying for some exam she had coming up. And that meant endless mumbling and groaning as she attempted to memorize spells that could heal animals and curses that could make someone cough up hairballs.
My eyes popped open and scanned toward the clock on my bed-side table. I sat up, looking over at my studying roommate. She was hunched over the desk, four textbooks flipped open and the trash can now filled halfway with ripped and crumbled papers.
"Thyne," I groaned sleepily, "it's three in the morning!"
She shot around, obviously startled by the sudden noise. Her blood-shot, tired eyes bulged for a second before she shook her head, "Good morning."
I shook my head as she turned back to the desk, flipping my comforter back and stepping onto the cold, hard-wood floor. As I approached Thyne, I wrapped my hands around her shoulders. With a tight grasp, I tugged her away from the desk and lead her to the bed. She reached up, flicking off the light as I helped her slide under her blanket.
"Goodnight, Thyne." I chuckled, walking toward my own bed and quietly sliding in. A smile spread across my lips as I heard Thyne's quiet snoring from behind me.
It felt like just minutes before my alarm went off, sending myself and Thyne up in bed. We both shot around to look at each other.
"We should probably get ready." Thyne said.
Jay.
I slept like a rock the entire night. Even when Duke jumped up and let himself relax on my chest at some point during the night. I groaned and pushed the canine off of me, rolling my eyes as he whimpered and jumped up onto Carlos's bed.
Carlos, who appeared to have woken up hours before me, was sitting at the table in our bedroom, his eyes closed tightly.
"Carlos? Are you alright?" I cocked an eyebrow at him.
His eyes slid open and he shook his head, as though to wake himself up."Yeah, I'm good. I just woke up too early."
I nodded, walking into our bathroom and grabbing my tooth brush. I took my time, brushing my teeth and my hair out, pulling on my beanie before picking out an outfit. Carlos had slumped back down onto his bed, half asleep as I pulled on my outfit.
"Get up, dude," I shook his side, "we're gonna be late."
Carlos shrugged. "We have fifteen minutes."
I looked over at the clock and nodded, "Well, I'm gonna get going. I wanna stop and get the rest of the notes from Ben."
Duke barked as I walked out the door, causing me to groan as I made my way up the hallway. My mind was wandering deep into thought as I passed by a string of girl's doors. My heart did a little flip as I heard the door beside me pop open and a familiar voice chirped, "Good morning, Jay!"
It was Elana.
I wasn't getting the notes anytime soon.
