Elana. My eyes scanned over the boy before I let out a small cough. Thyne's tiny snickering could be hear from behind me, causing my face to flush light pink.
"Jay, good morning." I smiled, tucking a strand behind my ear.
He looked up through his cocoa-brown locks and flashed me a smile. "Good morning, Elana."
I was hesitant before replying back, mainly because I didn't know what to say. Thyne's sharp elbow dug into my back and made me jump, causing a confused look to cover Jay's features.
Shaking my head quickly, I shot Jay a forced smile. "Uh, yeah. I'll see you in Ancient Discoveries, yeah?"
Jay smiled and nodded, running his tanned hand through his long, soft hair. "I'll see you then." Then he continued down the hallway at a steady jog.
I spun around and stared at Thyne with a hard glare, "Thank you for the pinch in my spine for the rest of the day."
"Why won't you just make a move?" Thyne ignored my complaint, grasping my elbow and pulling me down the hallway.
"Excuse me?" My eyebrow cocked and I acted as though I had no idea what she was implying, but the red tint on my face exposed that I did.
"You two would be absolutely magical together." Thyne grinned, standing outside of our first class as multiple other peers shuffled in. I watched them move past, wishing so badly I could get out of this conversation.
"I barely know him." I reminded her.
She crossed her arms over her chest. "Perfect reason to make a move, get to know him."
Jay.
After my encounter with Elana, I was running a bit behind schedule. I had to jog a bit to get to Ben's room, quickies rapping my hand against his door. "Ben! It's Ja-"
Before I could finish my statement, the door swung open and a nicely dressed Ben stood before me. He smiled and stepped back, "Who else would I be expecting to come pick up my notes?"
"Why're you dressed so nice? I asked, entering his decent sized room as he closed the door behind me. "Did you lose a dare?"
"You're hilarious. Do I look that bad?" Ben frowned, putting his hands on his chest.
"For class, yeah. For a classy business meeting, no. You look just fine for that." I explained as he handed me a notebook that had clearly seen some better days.
"Well, good thing that's where I'm headed." He smiled, approaching a large mirror that hung on the wall right by his balcony.
I slid the notes into my own bag and zipped it up, looking up at my friend. "Yeah? Royal affairs?"
Ben's face dropped in the mirror and he glanced back at me through the reflection, biting on his lower lip. "Something like that. Just some issues that need to be addressed, and my father has decided to allow me to lead it. It'll be my first Kingly duty and with the situation at hand.." He trailed off before turning to me and clearly painting on a confident expression on his face. "I need to do this right."
"You look nervous. Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, everything is fine. For right now, at least."
