"Hey guys." I say as I enter the coffee shop as Scarlett to find Rush and Zeus standing near the counter, in full costume. They turn and greet me happily. I notice the people in the shop staring at us, some pointing, others whispering.

A woman walks over with her daughter in her arms and asks for a picture, which I happily agree to. Zeus and Rush walk over and then a bunch of other people come over and ask for group shots. But once the commotion dies down, the three of us sit at a table, sipping our drinks. From time to time, we like to hang out just as friends rather than fighting evil.

"So how's it been lately with you guys?" I ask after I swallow a sip of my coffee.

Rush leans forward and rests her elbows on the table. "School has been getting quite difficult to keep up with, what with all the shenanigans going on lately." She answers with a sigh. Rush is two years younger than me. A grade ten student in high school. I don't know much about her identity other than that in school she is a good student. I think she also takes karate classes outside of school as well.

Her blue suit clings tightly to her small frame and she lets her long dark blonde, almost light brown hair fall down the middle of her back.

"It's only going to get harder from there." Zeus replies with a smile. Zeus is a very bold character. His olive skin glistens in the sunlight and his curly, dark brown hair is always perfectly styled. He has a winning smile that could make any woman swoon and his yellow and gold suit makes him stand out in a crowd. The only things I know of Zeus's identity is that he loves rugby, he is an art student and that he is in the same grade as I am but older than me by a few months, making him eighteen while I am seventeen.

I wish I knew them for their identities because I think we'd all be great friends, and maybe someday we will. But right now, though, it's not safe.

"So how've you been Scar? Last time we had one of these talks you were kind of in an angry stage of your life." Zeus says as he stares into his cup at the black liquid.

I breathe in slowly and exhale half a laugh. "I'm doing good. Things are getting better now so I have no reason to be angry anymore." I reply shortly. Last time we talked like this was a week before Erin was moving away, so I was a sad and angry all at the same time and had just gotten into a fight with my parents, which now, looking back, was over something completely ridiculous.

Zeus snickers. "Good. You're kind of scary when you're angry."

I shake my head and glance around the shop. My eyes land on someone who I thought had been locked up in the NVCD. He approaches our table with incredibly fast strides. He straightens out his red tie before he comes to a stop next to the table. I super speed to a standing position and look at him with an incredibly confused look on my face. He whispers something and suddenly everything around me stops moving, except for me.

"Why hello, darling." He says with a velvety laugh. "It's so nice to see you again." He leans forward so he towers over me, making me hand to reel my head back in order to see him properly.

I narrow my eyes at him. "What do you want Whisperer?" I ask him in my most menacing voice. He straightens up and whispers something so that my body can't move, only my head and face still mobile.

"Can't I just make a spontaneous visit to see my girl?" He asks innocently and I can imagine him batting his eyelashes at me.

I try to move my body but fail, obviously. "I'm not your girl Whispy, and that's clearly not the real reason why you're here. So what is it then, huh?"

He takes a few steps closer to me. His body uncomfortably close to mine now. We are so close that I can see each individual fleck of gold in his irises. He raises his hand up and tucks a piece of my brown hair behind my ear and I glare at him the whole time, not letting him intimidate me. "Ahh Scar, you know me so well." He chuckles. "The real reason I'm here is because I'm here to warn you about something."
