Rancor and I walk on the streets like normal people. Normal people wearing super hero costumes. And as we walk, I remember something that I found out this morning, which makes me stop walking. The hectic antics today had made me completely forget.

"Landon." I murmur.

He stops walking and turns around. I watch him as he sighs and walks towards me. He half smiles. "I was hoping you forgot." He admits, scratching the back of his head. "But you haven't, so in that case, yeah it's me."

My mind flashes to when he was still a villain, and all the destruction he caused. Then when he brought me to his little "hideout" and kicked the back of my knees, making me fall to the ground and then pulling me by my hair.

I smack Landon's arm really hard. "Ow! What was that for?" He yells in confusion.

"That was for causing all that destruction." I slap him again and he cries out in pain. "And that was for pulling my hair when you brought me to your hideout!"

He inhales through his teeth. "Oh, yeah... sorry about that. But, in my defence, I didn't know it was you."

We fly up to my window and enter my dark bedroom. I flick the light on and look around the place. It looks the same as when I left it. I exit my room and go into the main area. Apart from it being unusually quiet, it looks pretty much the same. Except for the letter 'S' burned into the coffee table.

"Sinister is a bitch." Landon says from beside me. I feel my knees wobble and I lean against the wall for support. After a while, he clears his throat, looking over at me. "Umm, I have an idea, but you might think it's totally bonkers." He says as he takes off his mask. His voice instantly goes from being monotonous and robotic to Landon Grey. It's weird seeing him standing in front of me with his Rancor suit on but without the mask.

"What's your totally bonkers idea?" I ask as I stabilize myself.

He holds my arm to steady me. "Well I-I'm sure you don't want to be alone at your house right now... Especially with that thing on your coffee table. So uhh... Do you maybe want to, um, stay over at my house?"

I smirk at how uneasy he was asking that question. Saying um and uh; stuttering. Totally out of Landon's character.

I glance back over at the table, examining the giant letter scorched into the dark wood. "Yeah, sure." I answer a little bit hesitantly.

After packing some clothes and pyjamas and driving across the city, we arrive at Landon's house. Him and I walk up to the door, which is unlocked and he lets me go into the house first. The light in the living room is on and Suzy, Landon's mom, sits on the couch in her pyjamas, reading a book.

She looks up when we enter and her face lights up. "Hey, Charlotte!" She puts her book down on the coffee table and walks towards us. "How are you doing?"

"I'm doing well." I smile at her. Suzy looks at Landon and he clears his throat.

"Uhh... Charlotte's parents are out of town for a while so I told her she could stay here for the time being." He scratches the back of his head and readjusts the strap of my duffel bag on his shoulder.

"Of course! She's welcome here anytime. You can stay in the guest room upstairs." She tucks a piece of hair behind her ear. "Landon, can you show her to her room?" He nods his head and gestures for me to follow him up the stairs.

I give Suzy a quick hug, grateful for her hospitality. "Thank you, Suzy."

"No problem at all, hon." She replies before I walk up the stairs behind Landon and down the hallway to a room at the end of the hall. The walls are painted a light grey colour and the sheets on the bed are red.
