Dedicated to MeisterMadi who requested "Hi, I was wondering if you could do a one shot where the reader is Luci's daughter but is completely obsessed with the human world. As she blasts her music and sings, Gabriel hears her and begins to visit her regularly until they fall in love."
For the sake of the storyline I'm ignoring that the angels are canonically siblings so that Gabriel and the reader aren't related - and I feel like the ending isn't great and a lot of it's corny, so sorry in advance if it's no good
The main song is Always by Panic! At The Disco, the chorus of a song at the start is from my favourite song, Even Angels Cry by Jars Of Clay, and I think you can probably guess from the lyrics the other songs that I mention in this :)
Needless to say, your father disapproved when you took an interest in the race of creatures he despised. You were, however, the daughter of Lucifer, and were therefore rebellious.
You lived in a small house on your own where your father would visit and keep an eye on you when he wasn't busy trying to start the next apocalypse. Having a house to yourself meant that you could play your music loud and decorate it the way you wanted it, which was too human for your dad's taste.
Once you had started listening to human music and learning about the human world you had basically become the nephilim equivalent of Arthur Weasley.
A favourite song started playing as you sat in your bedroom and you turned up the volume, singing along with a voice you had inherited from your dad; that is to say (and please excuse the pun), an angelic voice. The amount of times you had listened to it meant that you knew the words by heart and they flowed easily from your mouth.
"Oh sister, if you wake up in the night
Walls are falling, letting in the light
No need to worry
Baby, even angels cry"With your eyes closed, you paid less attention to your surroundings, not noticing the soft sound of wings or the cool breeze they created. You didn't notice the beautiful brown eyes observing you nor the smile on the mouth below them that grew as the angel continued to listen until the last word faded out. Your eyes flew open at the sound of clapping.
"That was beautiful," the stranger said just before you attempted to punch him. "I'm not here to hurt you!"
"You're an angel, why else would you be here?"
"You can tell? Wait, don't!" He dodged a few more of your punches before taking his angel blade from his sleeve and putting it on the ground, holding up his hands as he stood back up. "I was just curious! I'm not here to kill you."
"How do you know I won't kill you?" You gestured to the knife and he gulped.
"I guess you'll trust have to trust me. I told you, I was just curious. I heard Luci had a daughter so I came here to check you out."
You raised an eyebrow at him and he blushed.
"I didn't mean 'check you out' like that, I meant..." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair until it rested on the back of his neck, lowering his eyes to the floor. "I wanted to see what you were like and then I heard your voice and I couldn't stop myself from flying in here."
His eyes rose again to timidly meet yours. You nodded, allowing yourself to relax, though not enough to make you vulnerable if he tried to attack. "Do you like human music?"
His eyebrow rose for a few seconds in question, but when he didn't receive an answer his bottom lip jutted out in thought as he nodded. "Some of it. Especially the romantic songs." He winked and you felt a light heat creep into your cheeks. This angel didn't seem much like an angel, seeming more flirtatious, kind, fun and well... human.
