Chapter 2: First Impresions

(STAR'S POV)

The next few weeks went by very quick. It was all composed of packing, fighting monsters and going on dates. Marco took me on all kinds of crazy dates, but the ones that I loved most of all were the ones were we just sat around and talked. I don't know whether Marco considers those dates, but I wouldn't trade those for the world. We finished packing for the holiday on December 31st. We looked at the clock. 11:59.

"Well, I better go," Marco said as he was reaching for the door.

"Marco, you don't have to leave. You wouldn't want to wake up your parents."

With that he slid into my bed, and we both fell asleep almost instantly. We woke up, entangled in one and other, to the sound of Marco's alarm through the wall.

"I'm so sorry, is my alarm always like that."

"Yeah, but most days you turn it off before it takes an effect."

"Well, I'll go and turn it off, you take that time to get dressed."

He walked out and I went all giddy. I started to think as I went for my wardrobe. "We woke up, arms rapped around each other, and Marco the save kid Diaz hadn't said a word, he just let a good thing be." I got changed and waited on the bed for Marco. He knocked on the door and I let him in.

"Star, I've said goodbye to my parents. I recon you should do the same."

"OK." I walk down stairs and say good bye to Mr and Mrs Diaz.

"Star, keep Marco in check, make sure he's not too much of a buzz kill. Oh, and no funny business."

"Don't worry," I reply. "I'm not a very good comedian."

Marco comes down the stairs and we walk out the door. We arrive at bus station and hop on to the bus. We are the only ones on the bus, so we talked as loud as we wanted.

"Ok Star, Stella and Zach are waiting for us in this old wooden log cabin in the middle of the woods with their friends, so make a good first impression."

We talked for hours until a crackly voice came over the loud speaker. "Attention, we will be arriving at Gravity Falls Oregan in five minutes."

"Marco, we are going to make some great new friends in just over five minutes."

"Yes, but remember, a good first impression is everything."

"Did I make a good first impression on you."

"Nope, but that's just it, I fell in love with your bombastic and unwieldy approach to life."

"Awww... Marco, that's so sweet." I kiss him and the bus stops, we grab our luggage and walk out the door to see a large log cabin named the Mystery Shack. Once inside a large puff of smoke appeared and an old man in a suit and fez appeared.

"Look Marco," I say. "This man is magic too." As I boggle over the old man's magical ability's I hear a familiar voice.

"Star, Marco, I thought I heard you both come in. Beat it old man, these aren't stupid tourists."

"Stella," I say. "Who was that guy?"

"Oh him, he's my friends great uncle, Stan Pines, come, my brother and friends are waiting for you in the other room."

We follow Stella throw a door that said employs only. Throw the door we saw Zach sitting on an armchair, and two people we didn't know. One was sitting on the arm of the armchair reading from some book with a hand on the front with a 3 written on it. The other was sitting at the table, trying to tape a sweater to a pig. They both look up at us.

"Hello," the girl ran up to us. "You must be Stella and Zach's friends, they said you would be here and now you are. Hi, my names Mabel, and the pile of crippling sadness over there is Dipper," she lowers her voice to a whisper. "He recently got rejected."

"Mabel, what did I tell you, you don't tell personal stuff to complete strangers," he turned to Zach. "Twin sisters, am I right."

He looked back at Dipper. " Tell me about it."

Both girls looked over to them with an I know you love us face. Then it was out turn to talk. I crossed over to Mabel and Marco walked over to Dipper. We chated for a while until the conversation was moved over to Stella, Zach and their magic powers.

"Where did Stella and Zach get the ability to turn into animals?" I ask.

"Well, I don't really know, its Dipper whose into all the super natural stuff. To be honest, the only reason he did it was the fact that he has a crush on Stella. He had two crushes but one just rejected him on a log just moments ago. Zach got it because for the spell to work you need to do it with someone you really care about. That's why Dipper and me have the ability too."

"Can me and Marco get some powers too."

Dipper pipes in. "Maybe tomorrow."
