Chapter 13: Goodbyes

(STAR'S POV)

As we awoke I checked myself, no injury's, no cuts or bruises. "Oh no, it was all a dream." That's when I looked across to the pile of people that were lying on the ground, that's when I saw her. Avery was lying on the ground next to Zach. "Yes, it really happened. My mum can't attack me and Marco anymore. I need to spread the good news. But first I need to wake everyone up. Rainbow Rooster Awaken." A beam of rainbow energy shot out of my wand. As it went as high as it could go, it turned into a cockerel, and crowed as loud as it could. All my friends woke up, and Started checking themselves for injury. "I realise you think it was a dream, but if you look behind you, you will see Avery, the girl we helped.

Suddenly, Avery's phone rang. She picked it up and put it to her ear. " Hello... Yes... That's great news... Ok, thanks bye." She looked at us with a gleam in her eye. "My mother suddenly got better. The time wish worked."

We all gathered around her and gave her a massive group hug, giving our congratulations. Then, Zach whispered something to Marco and walked inside. Then, Marco whispered something to Avery, who then followed him. We went back to our merriment.

"So," Marco said. "It wasn't a dream."

"Yes," I replied.

"And your mum can't ruin our relationship."

"Yes again."

"Good, it means I don't have to be scared when I do this."

He swept my hair out of my face. He was about to kiss me when we heard the door to the shack slam. Out ran Avery, tears streaming down her cheeks, followed by Zach. He looked soft, hurt even. Avery looked broken, she turned around and Zach stopped a few steps behind her. "I'm sorry Zach, I really like you, love you even. But your love is artificial. My powers cause extreme emotions in people I like. And I can't go out with someone who won't love me if my powers stopped."

Zach took a step forward. "Then stop your powers, let me show you that I love you." He took another step. He was now standing right in front of her. Face to face.

"I will, then you'll see why I can't go out with you." She tensed, screwed up her face, and let out a long breath. After she opened her eyes, Zach's face softened, not as distraught. "Zach, do you love me?"

Zach then grabbed her and swung her around, leaned her down before placing a long, passionate kiss on her face. Everyone let out a large cheer. We all ran towards them but stopped when we noticed they hadn't stopped. When they finally came up for air, they were painting. "Does that answer your question?"

She looked into his deep blue eyes. "Yes, yes it does. I will go out with you."

Everyone cheered as Zach pulled her in for another kiss. Everyone cheered once again and went back to their business. I looked at Marco. "I guess everything is gonna be OK."

"Except that we have to be on a bus in 30 minutes."

"Oh no. I'm not packed and I have to say goodbye to everyone."

"Don't worry, your bags are already on the bus, and we're all heading there now."

We all headed to the bus stop and said our goodbyes. Wishing everyone the best if luck with the future. We got on and it drove away.
