Kim Mingyu x Jeon Wonwoo (Meanie)

Wonwoo sat on the frozen fountain at the square early in the morning, waiting for Mingyu. It's their day off and they planned to meet up, just the two of them.

No leader Seungcheol, no little Dino. They're free to do anything they want.

Poor Wonwoo rubbed his gloved hands together for heat. He's freezing even under all his winter clothes. What's taking Mingyu so long?

"Hyung..." Wonwoo heard a familiar voice call.

He looked behind and saw Mingyu standing tall and smiling cheekily, his hands hidden at his back.

"What took you so long, Kim Mingyu?! I'm freezing here!" The older pouted.

Mingyu's smile grew wider, walking towards his hyung, and handed him the white rose he bought on the way to the square. Wonwoo felt his blood rush, instantly giving him heat.

"I figured you need a present. You've been working very hard this Mansae era. You deserve the love." Mingyu gave him his signature cat smile, making his hyung's heart flutter. He bit his lower lip and slowly took the rose. Mingyu is so thoughtful. One of the billion reasons why Wonwoo love him.

Wonwoo stared and spun the rose stem between his index finger and thumb, wincing when a thorn pricked his skin. The younger quickly reacted and took the older's thumb, putting it near his lips. He licked the blood off and gave the wound a butterfly kiss. Wonwoo was taken aback by his boyfriend's sudden sweet gesture.

"Be careful. Don't damage your milky skin." Mingyu said with caring eyes.

Mingyu wasted no time and dragged Wonwoo to the bridge where they used to go to watch the sunrise before debut. They haven't been there for a long time and Mingyu miss going there. All their sweet memories together happened here. Mingyu remembered them all. Here is where Wonwoo confessed his love for him and then they became an 'item'. Their first kiss happened here, too. After Mingyu saved his hyung from drowning in the deep sea. Also their first fight. Because Mingyu accidentally dropped Wonwoo's headphones in the water when he tried to get his attention. But even after all that, they remained strong.

They sat at the end of the bridge above the frozen sea, waiting for the sun to rise.

"Wonwoo?"

"Yeah?" Wonwoo looked at the boy beside him, smiling with his teeth showing.

"I love you." Mingyu suddenly took his hand in his, holding tight onto it.

Wonwoo was shocked. He said it out of the blue. What caused Mingyu to be this sweet today? Wonwoo averted his eyes from their linked hands to the slightly risen sun.

"Why won't you answer me back?" Mingyu frowned.

The other boy pursed his lips, not wanting to answer. The younger let go of his hand, glaring at him.

"Don't tell me you don't love me anymore." Mingyu spat out, almost crying.

"No no no. That's not it." Wonwoo cupped the crying boy's cheeks.

"What is it, then?!" Mingyu slapped his hands away and stood up, trying to stop the tears from falling.

"Mingyu..." Wonwoo called, tears now flowing down from his eyes. "I love you. I always will. Don't ever think my feelings for you will change." Wonwoo continued.

"What's wrong, then? Why are you avoiding me? I noticed you've grown further from me ever since we debuted! I try to reach out to you but-"

"I'm sorry. It's Seungcheol hyung."

Mingyu's fists balled up at the sound of their leader's name. He's doing it again. He's pulling them apart. The two of them knows that no one will approve of their relationship. That they are idols and they have a clean image to keep. Seungcheol had told them a thousand times and they get it. They understand. But that's not enough reason for them to split up. They're willing to sacrifice all that for each other.

Mingyu wrapped his hands on the other's waist, pulling him close. Wonwoo avoided eye contact. He can't disobey Coups. He trusted him to do as he said.

"Wonwoo, if you really love me, you'll fight for us." Mingyu desperately said.

"I love you, Mingyu. I really really do. More than anything! I just...can't. I'm sorry." Fragile Wonwoo escaped from the boy's grip and walked away. He wiped his tears with the back of his hand, the other holding on tight to the precious rose. He don't wanna lose Mingyu. But he don't wanna ruin their group's image, too.

"Baby, wait." He felt Mingyu touch his wrist and pull him into a hug. "Don't leave me, please." Mingyu cried out, his shoulders shaking.

Wonwoo clenched his jaw, tightening his grip on the rose, not caring whether the thorns go deep into his skin. He must stay strong. He must let go of Mingyu.

"Mingyu...I said no. Let's end this."

"No no no no no. Wonwoo please. Baby, stay with me. I need you." The younger hugged him closer, not wanting to let go.

"Mingyu, let me go before I push you myself. You know I don't want to do that." Wonwoo strictly ordered, a stray tear crawling down his cheek.

"Please. We swore to get married, remember? That..that you'll be my wife and we'll be together until death. You promised, Wonwoo. You promised." Mingyu cried, his voice breaking. He's desperate. He just can't lose Wonwoo.

"Well I'm breaking it." Wonwoo pushed Mingyu off of him and put his hand infront of the other's face. "You see this ring?" He took off the ring from his finger and showed it to Mingyu. "You can have it back." He threw it to him and started to walk away.

I'm sorry, Mingyu. I love you.
