We walked around the red forest, smelling the fresh sent and looking at the amazing sight. He told me that he wanted to show me something that he never showed anyone before, well, except for my brother. I followed along, holding his shoulder.

"Stay right there." He pointed at a nearby tree. I followed his command. He closed his eyes and took a big breath. I leaned against the tree, ready for any surprise. Keeping his eyes closed, he whispered something under his breath and concentrated. He opened his eyes after finishing his whispers, and the second he opened them, he was gone. I looked down. In his place was a crow. "wh..what!?" I gasped. "How do you do that?" He cawed and laughed. I guess he can speak both animal and human language in his animal form. I reached my arm out at him and he sat on my fingers. He walked onto my shoulders and nuzzled his face against my cheek. I giggled, and he flew back to the ground. Before I knew it, he was back in his human form. He laughed again, and said, "I can stay in my animal form for as long as I want. I figured out I had this power the day your brother died. Petty cool, eh?" I smiled. "We should go back. It's getting dark." I nodded and began to walk. He walked by me, and as five minutes passed, we were getting more used to each other. I really liked him. Maybe I loved him. He looked at my left hand and asked me what happened. I still had the fabric wrap around bandaid on my hand because the murderer had stabbed me there. "What? Oh. I was stabbed. Nothing really." He held my hand to his mouth and kissed it. He let go of the hand, and I have to admit, I felt a lot of admiration for this boy. He looked at my other hand looked away. His hand got closer to mine, and our hands collided. My heart was beating so fast I thought I would die. I felt my cheeks get warm, and he looked at me. He was blushing. I smiled at him, and he gave me a smile back. We were at the end of the forest already. "Good bye." He said. "See you tomorrow." I replied. I skipped towards my school, with my smile as wide as it can be, and sighed. I had feelings for that boy. My mind was so full of him, that I didn't feel the warmth getting nearer and nearer. I only noticed when I was in front of my school. My school..was on fire.

Shocked, I stood there. I could see the fire growing and continuing into the dorm rooms. I could hear screams and people running out of the school. What happened? I ran towards the schools and then stopped. My weapons were still in the dorms. I ran toward the dorms which was starting to get on fire and you could see the girls running out of it. I slammed the door open and ran inside. I ran to my room and looked under the dent in my bed, which always had my weapons. They weren't there. I flipped the bed and looked through the bed. It wasn't there. I could hear the fire crackling and coming toward my dorm but my weapons... I ran around the room when the window got on fire. I ran out the door and the fire tagged along behind me. Then, the floor above me collapsed in front of me. The fire behind me and the burning wood ahead of me, I was surrounded.

I panicked. I looked around. The flames grabbed at me and came closer each second. A flicker of fire flung towards me and burned my wrist. It stung. I blew and rubbed it but my skin was already red. I imagined what it would feel like to have that all over my body. I stomped on the door, trying to make it fall so I can escape. But it did no good. The fire was only a yard away. The only thing I have access to is my desk, but there was nothing in it. Frustrated, I growled. What should I do? What am I supposed to do? I put my hand in my pocket and my hand touched something. It was a yellow post it note. I don't remember having that. But now wasn't the time to think. Should I risk my life and just run through the fire? No. I would die. Screams and footsteps surrounded me, but all I could hear was the flames reaching towards me. I couldn't think anymore. My body forced itself towards the flames, where the window should be. Stop. I told myself. STOP. The warmth for closer and eventually my fingertips touched the flames. I screamed, and suddenly I was out the window. I had jumped out. My body crashed into the ground, and I felt instant pain. I fell head first, and I was dizzy. The world was going to dark, but I couldn't faint right now. My shoes were on fire, and so was the building in front of me. Instinctively, I shouted the first name that came to my mind. "ERIC!" my mouth formed those words, I didn't know why. He was already dead. I tried to sit up, but my voice had taken the last energy I had. My feet burned, and I tried to get rid of it but my body wouldn't budge. My eyes closed.
