Chapter Two
The air was misty and the sky was dull. We drove in my moms silver Mercedes to school. Laina was listening to music on her iPhone, Carter was playing a game on his DS, and I looked out the window, analyzing the new town. We didn't live that far away, so the car ride wasn't that long.
We pulled up to the high school first. My mom handed Laina and I our school registration papers.
"You two are old enough to go in by yourselves, right? I have to take Carter over to the elementary school." my mom said
"Mom, we'll be fine. Chill." replied Laina as we both stepped out of the car into the cold air.
"I love you two!" shouted my mom as we walked to the door, "Have a fantastic day!"
When we entered the main office we were greeted by a secretary named Linda. Linda looked like she was probably my mom's age. She had a short blonde bob and a very perky personality. She sat us down and gave us our schedules, ID's, and school handbooks. When she was done talking she released us into the school. Linda asked if I needed help finding my classroom, but I assured her that I would be fine.
I had first period Honors Geometry. As I walked to class, I noticed the colorful walls and decorative posters. I could already tell that this school would be a lot different than my old one.
I finally reached classroom D13. I placed my hand on the door knob, took a deep breath, and slowly opened the door.
