After the incident with Minnie in Geometry today, I guess you could say that the rest of my morning was pretty normal. If you would consider normal meaning not talking to anyone and just going to my classes.
I walked into the overwhelming cafeteria at 12:45 like I did each day. As I made my way over to my "loner table"- as Minnie refers to it- I could hear someone calling my name. Who would be calling for me? I figured I had just heard wrong, and started back for my table. I suddenly felt a hand grab my shoulder and it startled me. When I turned to see who it was, I was greeted by the smiling face of none other than Hallie Harrington from 1st period.
"Andi!" she said, "Come sit with me today! I have to introduce you to my friends!" I followed Hallie as she lead to her table. She sat at a table all the way on the other side of the cafeteria with a bunch of other people. "Hey, guys! This is Andi, she's new!" I suddenly felt all the eyes on me. I didn't know what to say. I never know what to say. I simply smiled and waved at the table, and then sat down next to Hallie. Everyone immediately went back to their conversations "Okay," Hallie said, "These are my best friends." she said while pointing at two girls. "This is Kristen Woodley."
"Hey!" said Kristen. Kristen had long, blonde, wavy hair and I noticed that she was hard at work sketching something in a sketch book. She wore a pair of light washed jeans and a green shirt with a long plum colored sweater.
"Hi" I said back.
"And this is Lola Brookes."
"Hi" said Lola. She had straight, dark brown hair with a purple streak underneath. Her clothes were pretty dark: Dark washed jeans, and a purple tank top, a black leather jacket and a gray beanie. " I think we are in the same gym class." She said.
For the rest of the lunch period I got to know Hallie, Kristen and Lola. I really think I learned a lot about all of them. Hallie is a really good singer and is preparing for and audition for this really good choir. She also has a brother who is deaf, so she is really good at sign language. Kristen a really good artist- which explains why she was drawing. She also has a sister who is Laina's age. I also found out that her parents are divorced and she lives with her mom. Lola was really into theatre. She is an only child and lives with both of her parents. I also realized that she has a really good sense of humor, and it was fun talking to her.
I could now honestly say that this was my best day yet at High school. If this is what making friends is like, then I think I made three.
