~CHAPTER 14~
Umar's POV:
I found everyone in the waiting hall. Sa'ad gave me a tight smile as I greeted them. I looked around, trying to catch a glimpse of her, ignoring the voice screaming stop inside my head. When I finally saw her, I felt a rush of emotions.
Ameerah looked exhausted. Her cheeks were stained with tears, and she was clutching at her Jilbab. Our eyes met for a split second, and I could see she was terribly anxious and worried. Jameelah was trying to comfort her, but she seemed so lost... It was only when Hasnah walked towards her that I realised I was still staring shamelessly.
I let out an inaudible sigh, feeling helpless. It made me feel frustrated to see her in so much pain, and yet not being able to do anything about it. I gritted my teeth, angry at I don't know what.
I moved to a quiet corner and started to make Duah. It helped me feel slightly more relaxed, and at least I was doing something helpful. It was then that the doctor came out.
"Miss Williams?"he asked.

Ameerah's POV:
The doctor was directly staring at me. He was smiling reassuringly, but I still feared something was wrong.
"May I have a word with you please?"he asked.
I nodded, my mind racing, and my heart thundering in my chest. I grabbed Jameelah's hand and we both walked into the doctor's cabin.
"Please have a seat Miss Williams," he said. We sat down, and I immediately felt a cold chill.
"Miss Williams I would first ask you to relax," he said. I sighed and stared at him.
"Doctor, would you please tell me how is my brother?"I asked, my voice pained.
He nodded and took out a file.
"Well, Miss Williams. Your brought your brother here because of his high fever, am I right?" I nodded, starting to feel angry. Why was this doctor not coming to the point?
"There is nothing to worry about," he continued, seemingly enjoying the agony I was going through. "Your brother has a mild mouth infection. Don't worry, such infections are common in children."
I sat up straight, staring at him intently.
"Usually, the vesicles around the mouth are quite visible, but Jabir's are quite small. It will be treated quite easily, and we are hoping he will be alright in some two or three days." He paused, waiting for me.
"Doctor, I know it might sound strange, but is the mouth infection due to any neglect on my behalf? I mean, could it have been prevented?" I asked, though much more relaxed.
The doctor smiled at me and proceeded in explaining how it was all caused. Somehow I felt guilty because I had promised my parents to look after him, and the fact that he had fallen ill implied to me that I had failed.
"Can I go see him?" I asked once he had finished. He nodded and led us out of his cabin.

Hasnah's POV:
(Going back to when she just arrived and met the two girls)
I thought I would feel uncomfortable among them, but I was wrong. After having introduced myself, it was slightly awkward because none of us three knew what to say. Ameerah was looking lost in thoughts, while Jameelah was worrying about her. I stared at them both and finally spoke up.
