"We have the recalls for the 10-11 girls age group," Omg! I almost spit out my Starbucks! They weren't supposed to happen for another 15 minutes! Good thing we were coming back early!
"In numerical order, 101... 102... 104... 109... 111... 113..." We all rush back down to our seats and hold hands. We all think we danced the best rounds of our lives so if any of us don't recall it will be awful... "... 119... 122... 123... 126... 129..." We all scream quietly and hug Ruby! She's crying and so it her mom! "... 135... 139... 143... 144... 149..." Mias coming up soon! "... 150... 151... 154..." Yessss Mia! She's crying and hugging me but won't let go... "... 178... 179... 180..." Baylee recalled too! now I'm the only one left! My numbers like 60 away so we have to wait through a bunch of numbers. "223... 223... 223..." I just repeat to myself in my head "... 214.... 220... 224 and 227."
Wait... I didn't recall? I thought I would have. I go back to mom and sit on her lap and just cry. This isn't fair... I take off my hardshoes so we can bring my stuff back up to the room when "I'm sorry, it's been brought to my attention that I had made an error in the recalls. Competitors 117, 139, 153, 170 and 223 are also included in the recall."
Omg... I did recall! Now I start crying, happy tears though! I know I may come off as bratty but this is what I've been working for since I was 5 and now it's finally happened! I get back on my shoes and tape them up, Mom fixes up mine and Mias make up and helps our shoes. They're starting on 165 so Mias one of the last sets! We have 2 hours until the set round so we go find Miss Sandra so we can run through sets.

"Next up is competitor 223 dancing, The Drunken Gauger at speed 66." I walk onstage with all the confidence in the world. I dance it like Mira showed me back when I was first learning it. I push out every beat, lift all the clicks and pull my birdie up to my face. I walk off feeling like I could leave with the globe! Then I watch the next girls set and hers was amazing too and all my confidence drains. Everyone is amazing here so maybe my best won't cut it... The round ends and now comes the hardest part of the whole day. The wait for our fate...
