Alex's P.O.V
*3 days later*
It was now Saturday and it was the day my stepfather had a day off. I planned on staying in my room all day unless someone interrupts me. I couldn't risk going down stairs even if my life depended on it. Good thing I had a little stash of food hidden in my room. I also have a little mini fridge that I of course bought with my own money from working at Hot Topic. It's like the only place here that I enjoy working at which sounds really Cliche considering the stuff that I like.
I honestly really like the job though. But it's a bad thing for me because all of the people there who are my friends are out of High school. But at least they're better than most of the people at my school.
It was around 9 am, and I was laying on my bed for a while just listening to some music while working on a book report that is due at the end of the month. I continue writing until my hand starts to cramp up. I decide to take a break and sit there thinking about what I should do.
I then decide something that I really thought that I wouldn't do. I'm actually going to risk going downstairs just to get out of the house. At this point in time I just stopped caring about what happened. Anymore I would do anything just to get out of this house. That's one reason why I'm ready to be out of school. Since I'm 18 already I'll be able to leave this awful place and never see anybody from here again.
I get dressed in just a plain black t-shirt with Some dark skinny jeans. Since it was spring now I had no reason to wear a jacket. I wear a jacket almost 24/7 to hide the scars and bruises but these past few months since my stepdad has been working late he hasn't had the chance to get to me and I've been trying to stay as far away as possible.
I then grab my fully charged phone and my backpack that isn't my school one but one that I carry other things in then quietly open my door. I quietly shut my door and take the lightest steps I possibly can. Our house wasn't that old thankfully so when I went down the stairs it didn't creak.
As I reached the bottom step I checked my surroundings. It seemed to be clear so I took a few steps toward the door but then I heard a loud noise and I froze immediately. I discovered that it was just my Stepfather snoring very loudly and I took that as a chance to take the last few steps I needed to get to the door. I grabbed my penny board that was sat by the door and head out the door very quietly. I got fully outside and got a breath of fresh air.
I sat my penny board on the ground and hopped on and pushed off the ground heading to my favorite little place. The Lake. I always went there when I wanted to be alone and it was a very beautiful spot. Also, nobody ever went there except for me because you know how people are these days. They'd rather be out partying and staying inside than being outside enjoying what they have in life.
I enjoyed being alone sometimes. Even though sometimes quiet is violent it soothes me most times because I'm constantly surrounded by noise and it's nice to have quietness.
I was only on my board for about ten more minutes until I reached where the woods began. I knew the path to the lake already and had no trouble finding it. But when I got there I saw another figure. I came closer and I noticed a familiar looking hat. They were standing on the abandoned beach of the crystal lake.
"Patrick, Is that you?" I said but then quickly covered my mouth because I had not meant for that to slip out.
The figure turned around and to my relief it was Patrick. My question is though, how did he find the lake?
"Alex," He said happily, "What are you doing here?"
"I was about to ask you the same. I always go here when I want to be alone so I guess you could call it my safe haven."
