We had been driving in silence for the past 20 minutes. I sighed, “I think now would be a good time for you to start explaining.”
“Ya know, I was thinking that that could wait until later.”
“The only reason you’re driving my car right now is because you said you were going to explain.”
“Well, I changed my mind. I figured that we’d talk about something else.”
“Like what?”
“How has life been going to the past three weeks?”
“Like shit.” I growled. “Yours?”
“Uh, the same.” she mumbled. “Did you miss me?”
I debated on whether or not to tell the truth. Hell, what did I have to lose anyway? “Yes.”
Brooklyn’s eyes shot over to me. “Really?” I nodded. She looked as if she wanted to say something, but she remained quiet. She turned her eyes back to the road.
“This isn’t the way to my house.”
“I know.”
I furrowed my eyebrows. “Where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise.”
“I’m not a fan of surprises.”
“Too bad.” she said, sticking her tongue out at me.
There were a few minutes of uncomfortable silence.
I stared out of the window. We seemed to be driving out of the city.
“So, have you gotten lucky?” Brooklyn’s voice cut through the silence.
“What?”
“Have you boned anyone?”
“Just my hand.”
Brooklyn giggled loudly, causing a smile to spread over my face. Hmm, I didn’t realize how much I did actually miss her. “So those two girls?”
“Nothing was going to happen with them.”
“Good.” she muttered under her breath.
“What about you? Have you screwed anyone recently?”
“Uhm, n-no.” I could easily tell she was lying.
