I sat up abruptly. I forgot that I wasn't in my normal bed, but in Levi's. I looked down to still see him sleeping, peacefully. I couldn't point out a single flaw on his incredible face and I can't believe God managed to make someone so attractive.

I made sure I had pants on before I got up and slowly tip-toed out of Levi's tent. I'll make coffee for everyone again. Levi's first of course.

I grabbed the three steaming mugs in my hand, making my way back to Levi, my tail swinging back and forth in a peaceful rhythm. I sat the mugs down, keeping Levi's in my hand.

"Corporal," I poked his check.

He groaned and turned the other way.

"Levi," I said again. This time burying my face in his neck.

"Wolf boy," he mumbled tiredly and turned to face me.

"I brought you coffee,"

Levi sat up and took the mug from my hands. "Thanks...Eren,"

I smiled and picked the other two mugs. "I have to deliver these. Afterwards I'm gonna go on an outing.. If that's okay of course."

Levi didn't say anything but instead starting drinking his coffee. I grabbed the rest of the mugs, making sure not to spill any or Levi would've had my head.

Hanji was lazily dragging herself out of her tent but immediately perked up once she saw me.

"Oooo!" She squealed.
"Tell me, Eren! Does the Corporal have a pet play kink?" Hanji chuckled mischievously.

My face went bright pink and the hair in the back of my neck stood out.

"I don't understand, Hanji." I said nervously. "We only cuddled," I decided to keep rolling with it. "He only uses me you know," I made a dramatic sign and rolled my eyes as if I was hurt.

Hanji bumped my arm to say "as if" and I was careful to hold onto the mugs.

"One of those for me?" Hanji asked excitedly.

"Of course, it's the yellow one."

Hanji took her coffee and started downing the entire thing in once go. "Oh, Eren. You're too good to me."

"I know."

Our conversation was disrupted my a sleeping Armin stumbling into the clearing. "You guys really have it easy. You know the expression walking like a new born deer? That's me every morning." Armin said, nearly tripping in himself. Mikasa trailed behind him, fiddling with her scarf. She looked untouched by the grogginess of morning.

"Everybody is awaking up! Wonderful." Hanji exclaimed.

I had suddenly remembered my plans for today, I was itching to return to familiar spots in the forest we hadn't been through yet, and a moment of freedom was in order.

"Ah, Hanji. I was wondering if...I could, you know, go for a run?" I asked, setting the other coffee on the picnic table.

Hanji looked to the side as if to contemplate it. "Hm, okay. Promise me you'll come back?" Hanji laughed but it wasn't as obnoxious as they typically were.

"Of course, you all are my friends," I assured her.

"Okay then! But don't get too filthy. Levi would have a riot!"

Nodded in agreement and turned face the west.  I waved to Armin and Mikasa on my way into the woods, I should've asked if they wanted to join but, I wanted it to just be me. I felt the soil under my feet, soft and cold. A little wet from morning dew. The earthy scent was overwhelming to my enhanced sense of smell, but it was welcoming. It's not like I was deprived of these feelings. We are camping after all, but the smell mingles with coffee, and laundry detergent and, well, Levi. All good, but not from my origins.

I picked up the pace, tail swishing and ears fallen back just slightly. I began running, sprinting, and found myself running my old paths and passing my favorite climbing trees.

Thoughts of the previous night flooded my mind and I ran faster. I can't believe I had experienced that, it was like nothing I'd ever known. Humans has so much to their world and their emotions and though I share the same feelings it still feels foreign.

Levi. He seemed all asshole-ish bravado but really I think he cares. Perhaps it's just the type of person he is. Maybe he doesn't know how to show affection like most naturally would. That's the case. And I forgive him for that because I show things my own way too.

By the time I broke my thoughts I realized I had ran farther than I attended. This area was a little less familiar, but I knew where I was.

There was a smell. A smell that made the fur on top of my tail tingle and the fight or flight instinct kick in. My ears perked forward in awareness. It was eerily quiet. I hear the groan of a tree branch and then I realized what the smell was- mountain lion.

I spun around just in time to see the wild cat launch himself from a tree branch. He yowled, claws slicing through empty space as he jumped towards me. I dodged just in time and spun, bearing my teeth and making an inhuman noise.

The mountain lion wasn't fazed and prepared for a second leap. This time I wasn't fast enough and the two of us went tumbling to the floor. I used my arms to keep his claws out of reach and brought my legs up to my chest to use my feet and push his neck back. The mountain lion fell to one side to escape my grasp and I jumped on to him, my own teeth biting into it's neck. It yowled a small painful noise and threw me off.

The mountain lion spun to face me but I was too disoriented to dodge the on coming attack. As soon as I thought I was dead, a pair large hooves threw themselves out in front of me and picked the cougar down. There was the thud of hooves and blurs of grey and brown. Centaurs?

I regained my focus and took in the image as the defeated mountain lion scampered away from his new attackers.

"Horse-faced?"
