Beep! Beep!
"Wow...I actually beat my alarm. Let's hope the day is worth this miracle."
I said while reaching to silence it.
"Well, I'm all set...this is awkward."
It was 7:00am, the sun was just shaking out of its sleep, and I was sitting on my bed all ready for my first day of sixth grade. Silence.
"Maybe I'm hungry...yeah."
I shook my head at the thought of talking to myself as if it calmed the awkward vibes I was giving off.

*Fast forward to being dropped off*

"Bye, honey! Your grandpa will pick you up after school." My mom was yelling through the passenger window.
"Okay, mom." I said before waving and turning to face the Welcome to Lake Sight Middle School sign.
"Leslie!" I spun to see who was calling my name. It was my friend Bre.
We've been best friends since kindergarten. The best to be exact, well, considering that we shared birthdays and were inseparable. Until the third grade when her parents divorced and she transfered schools, but we've kept in touch a bit.
"Hey, I just saw some people I knew from fourth and fifth grade. Damn. Puberty though." She said while looking around amazed.
All these students dressed in color coded uniforms; red for sixth, blue for seventh, and white for eighth. I, of course, being a sixth grader wore my red polo and hideous khakis.
