Edeem laid down in the moonlight that slipped between the bars of her cell. She growled to herself and clenched her jaw as she thought of the horrible events from earlier this week. She whined and spit blood out her mouth, just then realizing she was biting her tongue. There was only one positive in her situation: Edeem could shoulder past the other Forbidden Wolves during feeding time because they feared her insanity. Even though this was the only positive thing, Edeem would rather not eat first and instead have other wolves to talk to. Xohdur was the only wolf who would even dare to make eye contact with her, but he did nothing else. Edeem rolled onto her side, belly towards the bars. She yawned sleepily and closed her eyes with an exhale. Her whizzing thoughts slowly diminished and the darkness pulled her into unconsciousness.
Guess who's back.
Edeem rose quickly with a growl, without pausing to study her surroundings like before; she knew who it was.
Edeem snarled at Hernonan, "You've caused all of this!"
The god of curses smiled and sat beside Edeem, three shadowy tails flickering. Two of his deep black tails swirled around her and pulled her close to him. The other tail had a cold grip on the ankles of her front feet. Edeem struggled to get away from Hernonan and out his grasp, without avail.
"Taka's soul surged with such energy," Hernonan grinned and rested his head on Edeem's shoulder, his horns grazing the fur on her neck.
Edeem flinched. She arched her neck away.
Hernonan chuckled and winked, "We have all the time in the world, you know--here, anyways."
Edeem spoke through her teeth, "Why am I here?"
The god of shadows laughed, "Why, don't you want to spend time with me?"
Hernonan dissipated, like a mist, from the scene. Edeem rose quickly; she ran away in an unknown direction.
"Where are you going?" A familiar voice called.
Edeem shoved her legs forward. It can't be. She tripped herself and fell onto the floor, snout first.
"You alright?" A paw patted Edeem's shoulder.
Edeem rose quickly. She studied the wolf before her in shock.
Edeem stuttered, "G-Garr?"
The brown wolf nodded, "In the spirit."
All feelings, besides hope and love, vanished from Edeem. She raced to her mate and nuzzled him. He sat and nuzzled her back. Edeem staggered back to study him again. He wasn't like his usual comforting warmth, instead he had a chill to his touch.
Garr grinned wickedly, a smile unfamiliar to Edeem, "What's wrong?"
Edeem whined. Her mate's strong figure tranformed into a slimmer one. His brown fur rendered to black and two horns appeared on his forehead. Garr's sweet, honey yellow eyes flashed into a bright red. Feelings of anger, disappointment, and confusion swirled inside Edeem.
Hernonan sighed and laughed quietly, "I get so bored watching you wolves waste your lives away."
The evil wolf god panted. He stretched his front legs towards Edeem and wagged his three black tails behind him. His terrifying demeanor dissapeared. Edeem tilted her head.
Hernonan rolled his eyes, "Don't let my looks jar you, Edeem," The three flexible tails fused back into one long and fluffy tail. Hernonan wagged his tail happily, "Eh? better?"
Edeem slowly extended her legs forward, chest touching the black floor. Hernonan barked and quickly bolted passed Edeem. Edeem chased after him, confused, yet slowly relaxing in the god's presence. They ran for a while, Edeem tiring more quickly than the god. She halted with a heavy pant. Hernonan froze in his tracks and looked back to her. Edeem glanced to the side, dodging eye contact. To the side, the darkness seemed to form into a tunnel, and at the end she saw a red light.
