We arrived at the dance, not late, but certainly not early as I'm guessing most of the students did. Damn my mother and her photos.
I could smell all the blood already, circulating through their veins, all through the crowded, sweaty room.
Kol saw my eyes go red, and he brushed them gently, before kissing me on the lips to calm me down.
"Stay close." He whispered, before pulling me inside.
In the first 5 minutes, we saw everyone. Tyler, Damon, Caroline, Stefan, Elena, Matt, Klaus and Elijah all came up and asked how I was doing. All the boys had their hair styled into perfect quiffs or that one spit curl at the front, and I was laughing at their creativeness for the 60's theme. I guess the Salvatores had experience of those days.
The other Mikaelsons weren't dressed up, they just wore suits, and smiled gorgeously at any students who gave them looks of disapproval.
Bonnie didn't come and see me. She acted the same way she did when Caroline was turned. Completely against it. Pssht, like it was my idea.
This made me wonder whether she would make me a daylight ring. Today had been very cloudy, not a ray of sun coming through the huge grey puffs. I guess I should be grateful.
Kol told me the day he turned was burning hot, and the sun was brightly shining.
I slowly transferred my focus back to the room and stopped day dreaming as a slow song came on. Kol grabbed me around the waist and dragged me to the middle of the dance floor, right below that ritual disco ball which hung overhead.
I leaned my head in and onto his shoulder, not used to this type of dancing, and just following his lead. Of course he was a professional at this. What wasn't he pro at.
And because it was a 60's themed dance, some rock 'n' roll started playing. Kol grinned at me eagerly. Oh come on, he had been daggered for this whole decade, surely he didn't know any of this. Once again, I was wrong.
Before I knew it, my un-coordinated self was being hustled and bustled around my boyfriend, who was doing both gender parts for us. He was just whipping me over his shoulder, under his legs, around in circles, whatever needed to be done. I started feeling dizzy, which was strange for me because I thought vampires didn't get that way.
I left Kol dancing with Rebekah, and for a second I clapped along to their intense dance moves, before having to get some fresh air outside. I stumbled out the back door, and into the cold wind, then sighed, leaning against the wall.
Unfortunately, the cold wind made my sense of smell keener. Oh man. The scent of blood was filling up my nose, and god if smelt good. I just wanted to rip into someone right now, but deep inside I knew I shouldn't. It was too dangerous, and I DID NOT want to hurt anyone.
Now I regretted only having two bloodbags at home. My throat was burning with hunger, and I found it impossible to believe that Stefan only fed on bunnies and squirrels.
And, at the worst possible timing, a cleaner wandered past. Like what the hell, is the world out to get me. I couldn't help myself. My fangs stretched out through my gums, and I crouched back ready to spring. As I took the first step, something vigorously knocked into my side, crashing me into a bunch of rubbish bins, and landing on top of me in a heap.
I looked up with a growl too see Tyler glaring down at me, also growling. I whimpered.
"I'm sorry Ty. I couldn't help it. I-i-"
I broke down into tears in his arms. Wow I had been doing a lot of crying lately. He rubbed my back and whispered.
"Grace. All vampires start off like this. Stefan was the ripper for gods sake. But I will be there, every step of the way to help you out of it. To save you from yourself. I promise."
I nodded, and smiled. I then got myself up, and went over to see if the cleaner had noticed anything. Nope. He obviously thought it was some stupid highschool students having a brawl. Phew.
Kol burst through the back entrance of the building, and came running up to me, grabbing my wet face in his hands. His eyes showed sadness and sympathy, and I knew he regretted leaving me alone.
"Are you okay sweet-art."
I nodded, and pulled myself into his chest, still horrified about the situation.
"I-i nearly attacked that cleaner. Tyler had to stop me. Lucky he was there."
Kol then realised that Tyler was standing there, awkwardly watching our embrace. He nodded at the hybrid. "Thanks mate. You did what I wish I could've done."
Tyler just saluted the Mikaelson, smiled at me softly, before hopping back inside the gym.
Kol was reathing with anger at himself.
"I should've been there. Why did I let you go by yourself, I should've know-"
I cut him off mid sentence by putting a single finger to his lips. "Shh. What's done is done. You can't be mad at yourself for having a little fun."
He nodded, then leaned forward and kissed my forehead tenderly. I grabbed his hand. "Now. Let's go home. I'll cheer you up."
He grinned at me cheekily as he wrapped his arm around my waist and we strolled to the car. Tonight had been fun.
But if I couldn't control my thirst, and killed someone I loved, I would hate myself forever.
####
Tyler's POV:
Tonight was rough. I was glad that I was there to save Grace from being guilty for a long time. I knew for sure, that whoever she bit next, would haunt her thoughts forever. She was just such a nice person.
Caroline did fit in a few dances for me, although most of her time was filled with yelling at the DJ, and putting up decorations that had fallen down. Sigh.
I was one of the last to leave because I promised to help clean up, and as I walked to my car I started getting the eery feeling that hangs around Mystic Falls at night. There was all silence, and with 10 metres left to walk, there was a huge open space. Noone was in sight.
Luckily, I was a hybrid so I could pretty much fight off whatever came at me. Apart from the thing that did attack me.
Klaus slammed me against a car, baring his fangs, and grinning at the same time. I rolled my eyes. "Nice Klaus. I wasn't even scared."
He chuckled and pulled his arms away from my throat. "Sure you weren't."
I awkwardly laughed, then carried on the path to my car. He followed me.
"I just wanted to say, thank you for saving Grace tonight, from killing that man. I know if she did, she would never have forgiven herself, and I don't think me or my brother would either."
I gave him a surprised look, but nodded. "Your welcome. I didn't do it to earn your respect."
He laughed, and I reached my car, swiftly hopping in, and winding the window down as he yelled out more.
"I know. But it was a wise choice. Because now neither of us want to kill you."
He sped away with a grin, and I just shook my head and backed out of the carpark. That Mikaelson really messed with my head sometimes.

Klaus's POV:
After my liaison with Tyler, I decided it would be good to get Grace a daylight ring. I'm sure my brother didn't want her burning to ashes right in the middle of the school grounds.
Thank goodness I was the smartest brother, always thinking ahead. I had no idea where Elijah had got to.
I rushed over to the Bennett's house, and knocked on the door, a firm smile on my face. Bonnie answered with a grimace, looking anything but pleased to see me on her front doorstep. I put on my charming act. The anger was always a last resort.
"Hello Bonnie. Mind inviting me in?"
I already knew what the answer would be, but I liked messing with her. She shook her head stubbornly, and went to slam the door, but I grabbed an umbrella, settled on the front porch, and used that too keep the door open. She rolled her eyes.
"No matter. But I would be very grateful if you would make Grace a daylight ring. Please and thankyou love." I grinned menacingly, as she shook her head once again.
"If you don't do it for me, do it for the Salvatores, for Eleana, for Caroline. I'm guessing they're all good friends with Grace? Yes? I'm sure they'd be devastated to hear you wouldn't help her."
I knew I was getting too her, as she sighed, and waltzed back into the other room. About a minute later, she came back, with an ugly ring, as big as the Salvatores'. I sighed, and took it from her hand.
"Thankyou. I guess you could have magicked up a better ring?" She shot me a glare.
"No? Alright. I bid you goodnight Miss Bennett."
Bonnie just rolled her eyes again and slammed the door. I think that was the conversation involving the least words that I had ever had. Well, from her anyway.
I skipped home, happy to tell Grace about the ring, I knew she wanted to feel sunlight again. If I didn't watch myself, I was turning into a half decent person. Sigh.
----------------------------------------------------
I just want to say a few things at the end of this, relating to vampire diaries season 4, so if you don't watch the show or aren't interested, skip ahead. This doesn't have a lot to do with the book but I have to EXPRESS MY EMOTION SOMEWHERE AHH. ( I DID THIS IN MY OTHER BOOK TOO BUT THESE ARE DIFFERENT )
1. The worst thing Elena ever did, was kill and burn up Kol, leave his burnt up charred body on the floor, then keep his brother in the other room to stare at him for 48 hours. Honestly, imagine if Klaus or Kol did that to Elena. They wouldn't.
2. In a way I was glad Tyler left Caroline, so Klaus could move in and sweep her off her feet, yah know? <3
3. Elijah + Katherine = <3
Please please please I wish that worked out.
Just get together already but nooooo
ANYWAY YOU DON'T HAVE TO AGREE WITH MY OPINIONS I JUST HAD TO GET THEM OUT, COMMENT WHAT YOU WANT, VOTE, I LOVE YOU ALL XXXX
