In the morning, I awoke in my own bed, and the sun was shining through my broken blinds as usual. I wriggled around, enjoying the golden rays splayed over my body, before realising the facts. Vampires can't be in the sun. They burn. They die. What was this?!

I sprung up from my pillow, looking at the blinds, than back to my legs, then the blinds again. But the UV rays are lethal to our kind? Unless..

I studied both of my hands, looking for any new jewellery, to find a disturbingly large ring placed on my middle finger. Huh. It was huge and patterned, like the Salvatores. A smile crept onto my face at the piece of metal that would enable me to live a normal life. It was magnificent. And today was Saturday. Weekend!

I flipped on my radio and danced around my room, getting dressed excitedly. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a small note sitting on my bedside table.

"Grace.

Klaus managed to get you this ring from Bonnie, sorry about the strangeness of it. It was all he could get it. Will see you today my love.

-Kol"

I decided to go visit the Mikaelsons and soon as possible. Being happy with my ring, I wanted to thank the hybrid. Chucking on my blue converse, I skipped down the stairs, ready to head out. It was only 9.00, and It was my plan to give them a wake up call. My mother and sister were still asleep, I could hear them breathing from their bedroom.

So I left a note for them on the fridge, before dashing out the door. A morning run was just what my tired body needed.

Kol's POV:

I was dreaming, dreaming about Grace.

Most of my dreams about her were good, always happy, and ended with happily ever afters. But not this one.

****We were running from a giant monster. It was chasing us around the streets of Mystic Falls, and our vampire speed was not fast enough.

I was faster than her, more experienced, and I could see she was lagging behind. Her arms flailed desperately in the air, trying to grab hold of me. I cried out, and reached out to pull her close, but it was too late.

The furry black thing grabbed her, then smashed her into a large building. It pulled her back and I could see the pain in her eyes, making my heart shatter into a million pieces. I desperately sprinted up to the animal, then launched myself at it, biting into it and trying to suck some blood.

I climbed under its arm, around its torso, down it's leg, biting with my fangs, but as I did this, I could hear bones crunching, Grace's bones, and I knew it was too late.

I looked up to give a final look at the love my life, only to stare up into the face of the beast that killed her. That face that I recognised so well, that made me mad and happy. The deep British accent that came along with it.

Klaus?*****

Ice poured over my head, down my pants, into my mouth, circling my sheets like a torrent of chills. I shivered vigorously and jumped up, slamming myself against the wall to get away from the coldness, only to see Grace staring at me, bucket in hands, with a cheeky smile.

If it was anyone else, I would've thrown them against a wall, bashed them until they pleaded mercy. I hated the cold. Most of my life before this was spent in hot tropical places. Hawaii, The Bahamas, Various islands.

Her smile just melted my insides, and made me love her that much more. But I was still mad.

Swiftly pinning her to the wall, my hand traced her jaw, and I had actually surprised her for once. Fear showed in her eyes, and that was the last thing I wanted to see. After giving her the evil stare for the past 10 seconds, I moved in, and started kissing everywhere my hands had previously traced.
