My name is Isabella Marie Swan. People say death is difficult. That if you were to choose your death, it's hard. I never really thought about it until a few years ago. But dying in the place of someone I loved, seemed like a good way to go. About four months after my twelfth birthday, I was raped. It wasn't until a month later I found out I was pregnant. I knew then it was too late to get an abortion, so I decided I was gonna bring the baby to term and put it up for adoption. During my sixth month, I went into premature labor. My mom took me to the hospital and I gave birth to a little girl.
I was so afraid that she'd grow up to be like her father, though I didn't know who he was, but I knew what kind of man he was. I was afraid she'd look like him too, but when the doctor handed her over to me, I took one glimpse of her and realized I was wrong. I looked at her for about a minute and knew then I had to keep her. She looked and still looks exactly like me. I named her Elizabeth Renee Swan. My mother's name is Renee and my grandmother's name was Elizabeth, so I named my baby girl after them.
Mom helped me to raise her for the last five years, but throughout, she found a new guy to love. His name is Phil. He's a professional baseball player, so they travel a lot. Mom and him recently married and are getting ready to move to Florida, but they'll be traveling again right after. I don't want my daughter to have the same messed up childhood I had, so her and I are going to live with my dad in Forks, Washington for a while.
Bella looked at her daughter who was running around in the sun on their front lawn. Renee comes up and taps her shoulder. She stands up and looks at her. "You ready to go?" Renee asked.
"Yeah. I'm gonna miss this though." Bella replied referring to the sun as they lived in Phoenix.
Renee hugged her and kissed the top of her head. "I know. But hopefully Phil and I can get a house we'll all like and you can come live with us again."
Bella just nodded then yelled for her daughter. "Elizabeth! Ready to go?!?"
Little five year old Elizabeth ran over and jumped in her mother's arms. "Yes! I can't wait to see Grandpa!" She said.
Everyone got in the car and Phil drove to the airport.
Bella and Elizabeth said their goodbyes when they got there fifteen minutes later and Bella grabbed their bags. They quickly went through security and boarded the plane. After their so many hour flight, Bella grabbed their bags and Elizabeth's hand and they walked off the plane going out to meet her father who was picking them up.
"Grandpa!" Elizabeth said excitedly as she ran into his open arms.
He picked her up and kissed her forehead. "Hey, Munchkin. Look at you! You've gotten so big!" He said.
She giggled. "Thanks, Grandpa. I missed you." She said and kissed his cheek.
"I missed you too, Munchkin." He replied then put her in the car. He said hello to Bella and then they both got in the car. It was a police cruiser.
My dad's name is Charlie. He's pretty cool once you get to know him. He's a great father and a wonderful grandfather. We're both pretty quiet people, but we get along ok. The great thing about Charlie is, he doesn't hover. He's the police chief of Forks. The best one the town's ever had. At least that's what everyone has told me.
After an hour, we finally made it to the town entrance. Forks, Washington. Population, three hundred and one. It's a really small town and it rains all the time. It rarely gets any sun. But that's what you get when you live in a town that was practically built throughout a forest.
Charlie stops at the house and I get out to get Elizabeth and our bags. Charlie opens the front door and leads us up the stairs to my old bedroom.
"My friend at the store told me most girls your age like dark colors, so she helped me redo your room. I hope purple's ok. I wasn't able to add an extra bed in for Elizabeth because of the other necessities, so it's just a queen-size bed. Hopefully both of you can manage." Charlie said.
"Purple's cool." Bella replied.
"Ok. Well, I'll leave you to settle in. I'll be downstairs if you need me. I have a friend coming over later with your gift I got you."
"Ok. Thanks, Dad." Bella replied and he left closing the door.
Bella sat Elizabeth on her feet and she ran over to climb on the bed. "Can you sing to me? I wanna take my nap." She said.
"Sure, Sweetie." Bella replied sitting on the edge of the bed as Elizabeth climbed under the covers and layed down. She kissed her forehead and started to sing a lullaby her mother Renee used to sing to her.
