While my daughter was taking her nap, I unpacked our bags and put everything in their place. It took me about thirty minutes to do so. I walked downstairs to see Charlie outside and decided to go see what was going on.
Bella walked out the door. "Hey, Dad." She greeted.
Charlie turned around. "Hey. This truck is your homecoming gift." He said indicating the red pick-up truck in the driveway.
"What?!? Oh, my, God! This is AWESOME. This is perfect." She replied checking it out.
"Yeah. I just bought it off of old Billy here. You remember Billy Black right?"
"Yeah." She replied and looked at the man in the wheelchair. "It's nice to see you again."
"You too, Bella. You're all grown up now." Billy replied.
"Yeah."
"Jacob here rebuilt the engine and fixed her all up." He said.
Bella looked at the tall guy with long black hair. "You?!? You did all this?" She asked astonished.
Jacob laughed. "Yeah. I repainted her and completely rebuilt the engine."
Billy and Charlie were talking to each other and messing around. Jacob looked at her. "You do remember me right? When we were little, we made mud pies together."
"Yeah. No. I remember." She said and they both laughed.
Suddenly the door opens and they look over to see Elizabeth rubbing the sleepiness from her eyes as she's waking up. "Mommy?"
"Who's this?" Jacob asked.
Bella scooped her up and kissed her forehead. "Hey. Did you have a good nap?"
"Yeah. I was coming downstairs when I heard you talking out here."
"Grandpa bought me a truck. So now I can take you to school."
"Cool." She replied then turned her head to see Jacob. "Who are you?"
"My name is Jacob Black and that over there in the wheelchair is my dad Billy."
"Jacob and I grew up together a little." Bella said.
"Oh."
"Jacob, this is my daughter Elizabeth." She introduced.
"Daughter?!? How old are you?" He asked Elizabeth.
"I'm five!" She replied holding up five fingers.
"Five?!? Wouldn't that mean, Bella, that you had her at twelve?"
"Yes. But it was only a few months before my thirteenth."
"And you raised her?"
"With my mom's help and my dad's help when I was here. But yeah. She's my whole world. Everything I do is for her. Is there a problem?" She asked.
"Well, no. It's just really surprising. Isn't it hard being a mother at such a young age?"
"At first. But after the first three months, it got easier. I'm not too fond of how she was conceived, but I wouldn't change the fact she's mine."
"What do you mean?"
"It's a long story and I don't really like talking about it."
"I see. Well, I hope you both settle in good. Prepared for the rain."
"Yes. At least as much as possible."
"Well, we better get going. I'll see you soon?"
"Sounds good." She replied and took Elizabeth inside.
The next morning, Bella got up, showered, and dressed. She woke up Elizabeth who sat up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. "What time is it?"
"6:30. We gotta get you dressed for your first day at Forks Preschool."
"Oh yeah!" She said jumping out of bed and waiting for Bella to pick out an outfit.
Bella found some jeans with a flower patterned patch on the right side pocket, a navy blue t-shirt, and a red zippered hoodie. She helped her dress then put on her red socks. She brushed her hair and put a small braid on the right side pulling it back and clipping it with a silver butterfly hair clip. "Go put your shoes on."
Elizabeth nodded and headed to the living room to put on her white Keds with a red stripe along the center of the outside. She walked in the kitchen after tying them and sat down at the table. "What's for breakfast?"
"Cereal for today. I'll have to go to the grocery store after school to get some food." Bella replied handing her a small bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
"Yum! Thank you, Mommy." She said then ate.
"You're welcome, Baby." She replied and sat down with her own bowl to eat.
When the two were done, they went to brush their teeth then Bella helped her into the truck. Elizabeth put on her seat-belt as Bella got in the driver's side and started it. She took off and was at the preschool ten minutes later. She walked her to the office and looked at the receptionist. "Excuse me?"
The woman looked up and smiled. "You must be Miss Swan."
"Yes. I'm here to bring Elizabeth to class. Can you tell where it is?"
"Just follow me." The woman said and got up leading them to the classroom at the end of the hall on the left. "She'll come here every morning and the kids play a bit before class starts."
"Thank you." Bella replied and the woman left. Bella bent down to Elizabeth's eye level and kissed her forehead. "Be good. And remember to sit on the bench at the front door of the school afterwards to wait for me. I'll be here to pick you up as soon as I get out."
"Yes, Mommy. I love you." She said and kissed her cheek.
"I love you too, Liz." She replied and watched her walk into her class.
Bella got to the high school in five minutes. She parked her truck and walked into the office. "Excuse me, I'm Bella Swan. I'm here to pick up my schedule." She said to the old lady at the desk.
The woman looked up. "Oh yes." She replied and gave her the said schedule and a map. "In case you get lost. The buildings can get a little confusing."
"Thank you." She replied and headed to her first class.
