5. Auto Accident

It's been a week now since we got here. For the last four days of my first week, Edward never showed. I wondered if I did something wrong. I was gonna demand what his problem was. Elizabeth's doing pretty good in school. She comes home everyday talking about what they did that day and you can tell by her expression and tone she's excited. She's made five friends so far. All girls because the boys seem to think she's weird. At least that's what she says. She said her five friends are all friends with each other, so they have this little group.

This morning, I took her to her classroom and I went to say goodbye and give her a kiss like I always do, but she just ran off to her friends like I didn't exist. I'm happy she made friends, but after her little ignoring stunt, I'm starting to worry that she may be turning into someone she's not.

Bella dropped Elizabeth off early and got to school a bit early herself. She was standing outside her truck listening to her i-pod and reading her favorite book. A silver volvo pulled in and Edward Cullen got out. He stood next to his siblings looking across the lot at Bella. Bella glanced at him then went back to reading. Suddenly a blue truck came rushing around the corner and was headed towards her. You could hear the screech of tires. Bella's eyes got wide, but before she new what happened, she was pushed down by Edward and saw him push the truck away with his hand. Everyone in the lot gathered around to see what was going on.

A few minutes pass and an ambulance arrives. They take Bella and Tyler who was in the blue truck and rush to the hospital. They get there and are sent to the emergency room. Tyler is assigned a doctor and so is Bella. The two are sat next to one another with a curtain between them.

I was shocked with what happened, but I wasn't injured. The ambulance just took me and rushed me to the damn hospital. I sat on the bed waiting for the doctor and he finally came after ten minutes of waiting. He was gorgeous for a doctor. He reminded me of Edward. Pale, porcelain-like skin and golden eyes. He had short blonde hair though. He started to give me a check-up after looking at my chart when Charlie came bursting through the door.

"Bella!" He yelled ready to jump in front of a bullet. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. Nothing happened." I replied. Tyler started to continuously apologize, but I told him it was ok. Charlie told him he could say goodbye to his license then got annoyed of his continuous apologies and shut the curtain between us. "I'm fine, Dad."

"You could've been killed. You understand that, right?"

"Yes, but I wasn't, so..." I said shutting him up. Dr. Cullen started checking my eyes. "Actually, if it wasn't for Edward, I would have been crushed. He saved me. Pushed me out of the way." I said.

"Edward? Your boy?" Charlie asked him.

"Sounds like you were very lucky." Dr. Cullen replied ignoring Charlie. "You seem to be just fine. A tiny bit loopy from the shock, but otherwise just fine."

Charlie left and I went to sign myself out. I signed the papers then overheard talking. I turned the corner to see Dr. Cullen, Edward, and the rest of the Cullen's talking quietly to each other. However I couldn't hear what they were saying until I heard Edward say, "What was I supposed to do? Let her die?"

They turned to see me and they all left except Edward who came over to me. "Hi. I didn't mean to interrupt. I just wanted to talk to you. What happened back there?!?"

"I was standing right next to you, Bella." He replied.

"No you weren't. You were by your car across the lot!" I retorted letting him know I wasn't stupid. "How did you get over to me so fast?"

"I had an adrenaline rush. It's very common. You can google it."

"You pushed the car away with your hand!"

"Bella, you hit your head. I think you're confused."

"I KNOW what I saw!"

"Can't you just thank me and move on?"

"Th...thank you." I replied then just stared at him.

"You're not gonna let this go, are you?"

"No." I said and then he stood up.

"Well then I hope you enjoy disappointment." He replied and walked away.

I huffed then walked back to school. I'll jut get through the rest of the day like a blur and talk to him another time when he's cooled off. And so am I.
