"W-what?" I asked startled.
Drake casually glanced down at the woman who he was currently holding a sword against. Lady Brinsworth was staring aghast at Drake with tiny whimpers coming from her mouth. Her powdered face had suddenly become white, the overly done red blush was the only color present on her face.
Drake reached down and stroked her cheek. To any stranger it would have looked like he was touching a lover, but his next words were anything but.
"What do you say about killing her love?" he laughed, as if his previous question were obvious.
If possible, the lady in question's eyes widened even further. The women around the room gasped and covered their mouths, but were too afraid to stand up for Mrs. Brinsworth. I couldn't help but think that maybe now these noblewomen were finally seeing the Black Prince's true colors.
Unable to respond properly, due to intense shock I uttered, "What?" again.
Drake chuckled. "I said, do you think Lady Brinsworth's actions should be punishable by death?"
I shook my head mutely.
Drake's demeanor changed from amused to annoyed. "Why not Elizabeth? This woman disrespected you in front of all these other women. Isn't that right mrs. Brinsworth?" the sword pressed against her throat casueing a thin line of blood to appear.
"N-no please! I swear, i-I meant no harm. Please, I'm s-sorry!" she cried in despair.
Drake glared down at her. My mind was in a craze. Did Drake really believe that this woman deserved death because she insulted me? I mean, yes it was disrespectful towards me, and I felt extreme annoyance towards her, but she didn't deserve to die.
"Really, it is not that big of a deal. I am fine, my ego is fine. I do not want to punish her Drake." I try to reason with him. I slowly stand up from the table, as if to not encourage him to doing anything too drastic. "Put the sword down and let Lady Brinsworth go, I think she has learned her lesson."
She nodded crazily in agreement.
Drake sighed and finally lowered the sword. "Ladies, please exit the room. You may resume your little tea party tomorrow."
I sighed in relief as I watched all the women scamper out of the tea room. Their previous fear seemingly replaced with relief. Some even brushed his shoulder as they left and sent him sultry looks. Some women never learn.
Mrs. Brinsworth casually stood up and wiped her face off. She refused to meet my eyes as she fast walked toward the door.
"Wait a minute Lady Brinsworth, I am not done with you." Drake said and grabbed her wrist to hold her still.
She looked up in surprise, "I thought I was free to go, my Prince."
All of the other women were gone now, and it was only us three.
"You thought wrong. You said some nasty things to my wife, and you need to learn to hold your tongue when speaking to someone in higher ranks than you." All of a sudden four guards walked in and blocked the doorway. "Luckily, I am more than willing to help with that."
