BROOKE

Walking into school holding hands with Luke got a  lot of reactions  from the people that littered that hallways. I wasn't  surprised that  everyone was surprised. Luke and I were considered best  friend  throughout all of high school and now in our senior year we're  finally  dating. I ignored the stares I received from jealous  underclassmen  girls and kept my head high, squeezing Luke's hand every  once and a  while. It's not that I was ashamed to be with Luke, because that's the  last thing I was, but I was just nervous. I usually don't care about  what other people think of me or who I'm dating or what I'm doing, but  for some reason, I cared about this particular thing.

"You okay?" Luke asked, looking down at me since  he was so damn tall  compared to me. And well, compared to everyone else  in this school.  Even the teachers. He was quite intimidating to say the  least. But only  the length of Luke's legs and the broadness of his shoulders were  intimidating. His personality was not. Unless he's mad. But Luke rarely  gets mad. He is the most genuinely nice and caring and amazing person I  have ever met in my life. He wouldn't hurt a fly unless it hurt me or  the people he loved.

"I'm fine," I smiled up at him as we stopped at my locker  so I could  get my books for the first few classes of the day. I had  English first  period and I was definitely not looking forward to that.  Luke leaned  against the locker next to mine and dropped my hand from  his. As I dug  through my very cluttered locker that I share with  Delaney, I could  feel Luke's eyes on me. I looked away from my locker  and at him with an  eyebrow raised. "Why are you staring at me?"

"I  just can't get over the fact that you're finally mine," Luke  admitted,  biting his lip to hide his girlish smile. I couldn't help but  smile  either and blush at his words. The affect Luke has on me is  something  else and it's definitely something I have never experienced. I  looked  around, seeing that no one was looking, and quickly pecked him  on the  lips. I tried to end the kiss, but Luke didn't let me. I could  feel the  eyes on us, so I kissed him once more and pulled away. "Why  won't you  kiss me?"

"Everyone is staring." I mumbled and finally found my textbook I was looking for.

"So?  Who cares? Everyone stared when you and Blake would suck each  others  faces off between classes but that never stopped you." Luke  rolled his  eyes. He made a good point that I wished he didn't make. I'm  not huge on PDA and Blake basically forced me to make out with him  during school just to rub it into people's faces. People such as Luke.

"Yeah, but-"

The bell rang, cutting me off. Luke stood  up straight and pursed his  lips at me. "I'm gonna go to class before  I'm late. You should do the  same thing." He started to walk away, but I  grabbed his hand to stop  him from going any further. He turned around  and looked at me  expectantly.

"You're not going to kiss me?"

"Everyone  is staring," Luke shrugged and walked away. I sighed and  slammed my  locker shut to reveal Blake on the other side of it. I  jumped in  surprise and nearly dropped everything I was holding on the  floor. Blake  looked annoyed and also angry for reasons I did not know,  but I would  probably be finding out why soon enough.

"What do you want, Blake?"

"What's up with you and Hemmings?"

"Not that it is any of your business, but we're together."

"Together?  As in boyfriend and girlfriend? I thought you told me you  didn't have  any feelings for that douchebag. I specifically remember  you telling me  that I didn't need to worry about him. Clearly, that was  a bullshit lie,  Brooke."
