Aurora packed her things, making sure she didn't forget anything. Her mother, Anna, thought it would be a splendid idea to send her away to her hometown and see if Aurora's urges would calm down and her behavior would change. Now, Anna wasn't going to tag along with her daughter. Aurora was going to stay with Anna's childhood friend, Mandy. Aurora remembered seeing her once, but that was 10 years ago and she only has blurry memories of their encounter.
Aurora threw her bags on the sidewalk and sat down, sulking. She didn't want to go, she loved the city and she didn't know what to expect from the small boring town. All she could think about how uneventful her summer was going to be. She even begged her mother not to send her away saying things like "I promise I won't mess around anymore" and "I can be a good girl just let me stay here". She didn't mean any of it. Just like everything she said. Every single word that came out of her mouth was meaningless. Her mother didn't fall for her act this time. She already knew her daughter's ways and she hoped that with this trip, Aurora would change.
Aurora stared of into the distance, when her mother approached her from behind and laid her hand on Aurora's shoulder.
"I know this will be hard, but this is for your well being"
Her mother's words were gentle and assuring, but Aurora didn't care. The words that came out of her loving mother's mouth were stupid to her, meaningless. She thought it was her mother's fault for her being pushed into a boring summer, but in reality it was her own fault, she was just to blind to notice it at that moment.
Aurora didn't look at her mother and gave her the cold shoulder. Anna sighed and removed her hand from her shoulder. She picked up Aurora's bag and threw them on the back seats of the car, slammed the door shut and pointed her thumb towards the car.
"Get in, we're leaving"
*************************************************************************************************(Author's Note)This chapter was really short, but I felt like I shouldn't add anything more to it. Also as you can see Aurora is quite selfish, but we all hope she'll change through the story. Thank you for reading!! I hope you're enjoying it.
