Now while we were at breakfast Derek seemed way more interested in what I had to say. I ranted about work and friends and life. Me and Derek both work at Greenfield Industries which is like a law firm. He smiled at me  "Are you done eating?" I took one last bite of my omelet and pushed my plate away, "Yep." I laughed with a mouth full of food. The manager came over and apologized, why? I have no clue. He went on apologizing about my omelette not being cooked enough. ''I am so sorry Ma'am, they weren't cooked enough. We took your meal off your bill." My eyes wondered off to Derek. "Thank you, but you didn't have to do that." Derek replied with a quiver in his voice. The manager walked away and Derek looked at a sheet of paper in his hands. Before I could even ask Derek what he's looking at he picked up his phone and walked outside. I wasn't sure if he wanted me to follow, but I did. I signed the bill and shuffled behind him.

Derek was still on the phone 10 minutes later. Also I couldn't hear what he was saying cause he was mumbling under his breath. I unlocked our car and got into the passenger seat. I pulled out my phone and made a call to one of my close friends, Alex. My phone was ringing for what felt like hours until he finally picked up. "Hey Alex, Its Callie!" I said quite excitedly. I haven't seen or talked to Alex in months. "Hey Callie, How are you?" "Im really good, I just have to ask you something." There was a short pause... "Sure, what is it."
