Scene: You're in Seoul, searching for your way back to your house. Your phones dead and you lost your map. You hardly speak Korean and no one will even speak to you or offer their help. You're a foreigner lost in this city with no money no phone to call for help and no knowledge of where you are.
I lost my map! I have no money! I have no freakin idea where I am! Not even the hot guys are talking to me! Aish. I may not be a full-blooded Korean but damn it they could at least help me! Just because my eyes were blue and my hair a light chocolate brown didn't mean anything! I still had Korean eyes and....ugh. I hate it here! Why did we have to come?! Out of the millions of other places my parents HAD to choose Seoul! School sucked! The uniforms are stupid! I was always getting in trouble anyway...My classmates didn't really like me either. The boys think I'm odd looking because of my hair and eyes. They thought I was pretty but none of them asked me out because I look too different, not normal....strange. It's not my fault I was born like this! In America everyone thought I was gorgeous but here....I just feel out of place and ugly. They make me feel like an alien. I kept walking, damn my legs hurt. How long have I been walking anyway? What time is it? I looked around. This city had its qualities, at night it looked amazing but I wish I had someone to be with. Someone I could hang out with, a friend who wouldn't mind my blue eyes and different hair color. I saw some familiar buildings and groaned. I've been going in circles!!! Fuck! I stomped my foot on the ground.
"sillyehabnida..." A voice from behind me spoke.
I turned around. It was a boy from school. He never really talked to anybody, he was always sitting by the window, staring into the distance. He never really payed attention in class but he always had the best grades. Why is he talking to me? He never even looks at anyone.
"ye?" I asked.
"dangsin-i sonsildoebnida?" He asked.
"Umm....joesonghabnida.....I don't understand." I said.
He stared at me. He probably thinks I'm a total idiot now.
"English?" He asked.
I nodded.
"Are you lost?"
"Yeah, I am. I've been lost for a couple of hours actually." I said.
"Do you need help?"
My eyes lit up. "Yes! Please! Can you tell me where I am?"
"In Korea" he smiled.
A smartass. Great. "Oh really? I had no idea?! Wow that explains why I can't read the signs or find my way home. Everything here is in another language" I said sarcastically.
"I was trying to ease the tension. Geez take a joke." He said.
"Look bro, I'm hungry, I have no money, no phone, no map and I'm lost! I'm cold too! I've been walking around for hours...a lame joke isn't gonna make me feel better..." I said as I rubbed my hands together.
"Lets get something to eat then. Just tell me where you live & I'll take you home." He said.
I explained where I lived.
"Oh, that's right down the road where I live. I've never seen you though."
"We're in the same class...." I said.
"We are? Funny, I've never seen you..." He said scratching his head.
I was gonna reply with 'that's because you never pay attention to anything' but whatever.
"Come on, lets eat!" He smiled.
He grabbed my hand and led me through the crowd if people. He seems pretty nice I guess, a bit weird actually. Does he come up to random strangers and take them to eat? He lives close to me but yet I haven't seen him either. Maybe he gets dropped off? But he's always late. Hmm. I looked at him and studied his profile, the girls at school melted for him and left love notes but he never reads them nor does he even acknowledge the fact they exist. So why is he talking to me? Why is he being so nice to me? His hand felt warm in mine. I kind of didn't feel so cold anymore. He was truly handsome but there's no way he'd like me...there's so many pretty girls in our class. Wait, why am I even thinking about this?! I shook my head.
