Percy's POV:

The slow soft melody that we were dancing to faded into a chirpier tone but still our arms were wrapped around each other as we continued to sway across the dancefloor. She lights up into a smile and what I could do but follow suit as if she were the sun and I the moon (a little ironic I know). The comfortable silence between us was broken when shyness seemed to have eluded her, "What is your name?"

As I was about to speak, I heard my father's voice in my head.

Perseus, we need to leave... it seems as we have overstayed our welcome.

Looking past her shoulders, I spotted father nodding his head towards what seems to be an extremely peeved Uncle Zeus.

It pained me that we had to part in such a manner, till a brilliant (some say stupid) idea came to me. I planted a kiss upon her cheek, a moment to feel her warmth at my lips till I see her again. My lips hovered over to her ears and whispered, "Till we meet again my lady. My presence is needed elsewhere."

I stepped backed and took one last look for the night, her stillness worried me as well as the impending doom if I did not make haste. I bowed and slipped through the crowd. I dare not turn my back, afraid that someone would steal this moment from me. So, I left with the lingering warmth of her cheeks on my lips and the memory of her radiating smile.

Once we got back to Atlantis, things did not go so well. Father broke the news to Mother and Triton. And I guess you can say that mother did not take it well as they were now sleeping in opposite wings of the castle.

I hope they resolve it soon, meals together as a family was horribly awkward. I didn't dare to ask for extra dessert. So here I was now, sneaking into the pantry. I was walking down the hall when I heard a creak. Quickly hid myself behind a pillar, hoping I would be hidden within the shadows. It was definitely not the best hiding spot, but I panicked! Miss Sally would not be happy with me sneaking out in the middle of the night to get some biscuits.

I held my breath as this person drew closer and closer and prayed it was not her. The last time I got caught I couldn't have dessert for a week! They were probably about a step away from where I was, when their heavy thread of someone's feet stopped echoing in the halls. My eyes shut in fear, and I could not help but chant I am invisible I am invisible in my head.

But instead of getting busted, the footsteps just continued. It was puzzling that the person did not spot me from where I was hiding. The sound of their footsteps was a little too heavy for her too. Hmm I wonder...

Curiosity got the best of me; I peeked and indeed the footsteps were not of Miss Sally's but Father. No wonder it was heavy Maybe he was getting a snack too. I was about to call him when he walked past the pantry and took a turn... towards their chambers, where mother was.

Maybe I shouldn't have but I followed him anyway. Hiding in the corner, I could hear Father's footsteps pacing back and forth. He really should work on it. How else are we going to go on stealth missions!

I heard thumping. I craned my ears and listened, "Love I get that you're angry. You have every right to be so."

Silence ensued. What I saw was heartbreaking. Though it was dark, his sad stricken face was imminent, mother seemed to be still ignoring him. He sighed and continued, "These arguments are reductive, pointless and exhausting. Please I need you to calm down. It's been days..."

"I'll give you more time but please get back to me when you're ready to see my point of view."

He sighed and the next thing he said shocked me, "You can come out now Perseus."
