Hera the Queen of Olympus finally had enough. Not to the extent that she'll annual her union with her Husband (she totally should have). She felt embarrassed, she was the Goddess of marriage for Heaven's sake! Not only did have her Husband cheat on her once but thrice (that she knows of)! So out of pure spite and hatred, she had a child of her own. But when she saw that her son was born lame and far from what the Gods deemed perfect, she tossed him off Olympus like yesterday's trash. Sure, she could have found him a foster parent but sometimes people and even Gods, I mean Gods, Titans and whatever higher beings made (plenty of) mistakes.

However, it wasn't because she was ashamed with how he looked (okay maybe slightly) but she felt utterly helpless. How she still needed her pathetic Husband to have a child, when she was trying to prove she didn't need him. In theory she definitely could, someone in the future will successfully attempt it. However, her flaw was the child was made from hate, anger and all those emotions rather than... love.

Maybe it was fate or just luck, whatever it was, it saved the Godlings life. Perseus emerged from the Aegean Sea walking along the sands when he saw Hephaestus plummeting through the clouds and up in Mount Olympus, he saw what seems to look like a feminine figure looking down from one of the many balconies of the main Palace.

He ignored the figure and dived back into the sea before the Young God drown. When he did retrieve the Godling, he saw how he looked like a carbon copy the Queen. His head, a crazy mass of brown curls that covered his eyes. His eyes when opened were like big brown globes. However, the God suffered deformities, something a fall to the ocean would not cause. But it shouldn't be a reason to throw him away. Hades no child or God should be thrown away by their parent.

Now laying on the sand, carrying the babe, Perseus was facing a dilemma. If his suspicions are true, it would cause chatter in his own court. He knew his family couldn't afford anymore issues with the council. Especially since he was the cause of it. But then where would the Godling go if he didn't take him in?

The Godling really had to thank his lucky stars as Perseus was not the only one who noticed Hephaestus falling from the Heavens. The leader of fifty Nereid Sea spirits – Thetis, who was also Perseus' Aunt, just happened to be at the right place and time when it happened. It must be fate the nereid said and took the Godling in.

Several years passed since lived in her secret cave. His Father, Poseidon, has returned from his exile some years after Perseus' discovery of Hephaestus. Poseidon was impressed with how both his sons handled themselves and made them official delegates of Atlantis. He also noticed how his sons were no longer Godlings, still far from maturity but no longer younglings, nonetheless.

When given the positions, Perseus asked favorance in handling the surface world and like any loving Father would, he allowed it. Why? He noticed his son's likeliness towards exploring the world in the tone of his son's voice or so he thought. For his likeliness was not for the world per se but of a certain silvered eyed Godling.

With his Father's permission, he went off carrying out his duties as a delegate. He still carried out favors from time to time, learning secrets or chatters among the court. It also where he found out that one of the Queen's ladies in waiting heard the Queen wailing in pain, and it sounded like a mother giving birth. It was then did he confirmed his suspicions.

So, with more leeway with how he could spend his time, Perseus did indeed go off exploring and of course being a dutiful son, he'd always come back. Perseus visited Hephaestus, telling him stories of Olympus and that one-day Perseus would bring him there. None knew of his existence. And his favorite pass time was admiring a certain silver eyed Goddess from afar.
