Nate is sitting in Tiffany's pool while she's poolside, editing her Youtube video. She keeps looking over at him, he's been so silent this past week. The entire thing with Lucy and the abortion truly took a toll on him. She knows that he's hurt by the lies and betrayal but what she doesn't know about is the guilt he feels & the sense of longing. He understood what Lucy meant when she said they were in no position to be parents and entirely too young. But there was a part of him that once pictured a future with Lucy. He felt horrible that she had to deal with this all alone thanks to him. If he hadn't fooled around behind her back, causing their break up, she wouldn't have had to.
"Babe," Tiffany called out, knocking him out of his deepest thoughts.
"Hm?"
"Are you hungry?" She closed her Macbook. "I could order us some sushi or maybe some gyros from that Greek place you like."
"Nah," he shook his head. "I'm good."
"Do you want me to roll you up another one?"
He faintly smiled, thinking back to how he always liked a girl that rolled up his blunts for him. "I'm good."
"Oh..." her face fell & she reopened her Macbook. "Okay. Well...you let me know."
He nodded and stared at her for a while. "Hey...thank you."
"For what," she grinned.
"For being great, for being here."
"That's what girlfriends are for," she blew him a kiss and he pretended to catch it.
He knew acting like everything was okay around her was about to be a very exhausting trek. There was something poking him in the back of his mind, an urge...an urge for adrenaline to take his mind off things.
. . . . .
Nadia wakes up in Myles's room. She chuckles to herself when she looks around. He and his cousin had a party last night and things got wild. Everyone was passed out, half naked - Myles was on the bed, and three other people were asleep on the floor. Nadia carefully stepped over them and went inside the bathroom. She got a good look at herself in the mirror with her smudged eye makeup and hair in disarray. Suddenly she hears muffled shouting through both the bathroom door and the bedroom door; two men arguing.
"I know he's here!" One of the voices shouted.
Then the bedroom door swung open, waking everyone up including Myles. Only, he wasn't startled at all, he was ready to fight if that's what the case was. It was John...and Myles didn't feel like fighting John. If anything, he felt sorry for him. Myles quickly glanced to his side to see that Nadia wasn't even next to him.
"You," John points at Myles. "Where do you get off sleepin' with my ex?"
Myles laughs to himself. "I don't think that's any of your business...Swazz."
"I trusted you...as a friend."
"I'm your dealer," Myles corrected him. "Not your friend. I was sympathetic about your situation, helped you out. That's it. Why do you care anyway? Realize you still love her?"
"No," John gulped.
On the other end of the door, Nadia grabbed her chest, trying not to cry. Hearing him say that hurt her even more.
"But I still care," John continued. "She's a good girl, she doesn't need you corrupting her."
Nadia swings the door open; her eyes glassy and red from holding back the emotion. John looks her up & down in her underwear & stretched-out tank top. In his eyes, she could pass for a washed-up addict.
